Most likely because it was cheaper. I can get those Omron relays for $6 each. A good DP relay is more like $40. When you run 240v, you're supposed to break both legs, so technically they're doing it wrong. You need a heavy contactor because the inrush current is 60-80 amps.

You might try the next bigger size. I've used those forever and they screw easily over a pipe nipple or slip over a hose barb.

You could have something bleeding back from one of the pumps watering down the soap in the tank. The Hydrominder could be leaking water slowly into the mixed chemical and making it weak.

It's probably the low water level feature keeping the pumps from coming on. If there's water in the tank, the float switch is bad. You can bypass it to get the bays going (assuming I'm guessing right).

There are universal power supply units, just look at the voltage and mA output of the existing one and find one that matches. Voltage has to be exact, mA output has to meet or exceed.
