RFID Tags for our Self Service Bays?

I think Tom Hoffman was trying to get a RFID system in his washes. Not sure if he did though.

    New Wash

It will be around that if I don't win my appeal. Business is bad enough without having to worry about real estate taxes rising when no real estate around here seems to be selling.

    New Wash

You need to understand the cost factors and be able to be a jack of all trades to keep the wash running if it breaks down on a weekend or when ever. My real estate bill 4 yrs. ago was $24,000. Last year it was $46,000 and this year it's scheduled to be around $60,000 (I'm fighting it). My...

Credit Card Processing - NEW Fee!

I've been told by my gasoine supplier that you have to be PCI compliant ONLY if you want to accept debit cards at your terminals. If you accept only credit cards you do not have to be PCI compliant.

    Monthly Pass Pricing

I charge $25 for the $5 wash and $45 for $10 wash for unlimited washes per car per day. No one has abused this. But I have had several customers ask about a multi family discount. I saw one car wash web site that offers the first car at $25 and any additional cars in the same household for only...

    Trough Heat

Where are you finding Raytheon heat cable winterguard wet? I found it but it was like $625 per 100ft. not $300.

    New Vacs vs. New Vendor?

I had to make the same decision several years ago. I decided to do both at once. Wish I had done the vac combos first. More people use vacs/combos. If you go with the vac combo make sure you get a bonus time option for each use. I have double the time if a customer uses $5 and it seems to work...

    Virtual Toll Free Service

OK guys I don't understand this. I have two washes with 2 different phone numbers(1 ph.# per location) that cost me about $119.00 per month for each number. Each line also has DSL connected to them for c.c. and camera systems. Can I get rid of my phone#'s now and get toll free #'s to save...

    no high pressure

Most likely the solenoid but I have had several hoses from k.r. that had the swivel ends put on by them that were crushed at the end of the hose thereby getting little to no pressure. Might check that out too.

Why not put a small dot of finger nail polish on your tokens and see how many of them your getting back daily in your vending machine.

Close car wash in winter? Need advise

MEP001 without a tarp or door to close off the wind what is there to hold down the insulation to the floor? The insulation on the floors would definately help reduce or elimate having to turn on the floor heat but it does nothing for the drip freezing up against the wall and eventually freezing...

    advertising in bays

My only suggestion is to have at least 2 different merchants advertising in each bay side by side. I didn't want to do this because I thought it might get to cluttered with all the other signage. I had several customers that thought the Dent Wizard owned the car wash. So if they had any problems...

    tri foam

I have the tri foam after both my wraps but right in front of my mitter. So the mitter works the foam up to a lather and also pushes most of it off. My question is should I put the tri foamers between the first and second wrap but before the mitter? Use the second wrap to work the foam into the...

Close car wash in winter? Need advise

Years ago I saw a wash that had tarps cut out the size of their bay opening. They put eyelets in each corner of the tarp and "J" hooks in the corners of the bays. At sundown they would put the tarps up and close off they bays from wind, etc. till morning. They told me it was cheaper to install...

    advertising in bays

I did it with Dent Wizard for 12 yrs. The response they had was great. Charged $100.00 per month per location. You need to have the signs made with lexan to withstand the bay conditions. Unfortunately they were bought out and the new(corporate) ownership did not want to continue.

Habits of a Car Wash Owner

Once on vacation I stopped by a wash next to a McDonalds. I saw some guy banging on the coin box. I asked him what's the problem and he said that the coin slot was jammed and he lost his money. I noticed it was a D & S box and I tried my key and opened it. I unjammed the coins dropped them in...
