    Dog Wash vs. Bay Upgrades

Soapy I average between 18-25% of customers using credit cards. Last Nov. was a bad month but I had 52% use c.c. Don't know why. This Sat. was a busy day, Sun. was alright and c.c. sales for the 2 days were 648.00. That's 1+ bags of quarters I didn't have to collect from the safes, count, bag...

    Infloor options.. tried to search..

I don't know if it would work or you have the ability to purchase recycled oil but how about a waste oil burner. I have a tenant in my automall that is a repair shop. He put in one of these about 8 yrs. ago and then added another one on the other side of his shop about 5 yrs. ago. He doesn't...

    Dog Wash vs. Bay Upgrades

The Petsmart and Petsco stores around me have self service dog washes. Are you sure they don't? If so I would count them as competitors. In my opinion we all are first and foremost in the car wash business. So I believe upgrading your wash should be your first priority. It's nice when you make...

Check for any wires that might be pinched or a loose connection in the box.

Using hot water for Low Pressure washing?

Install a heating element in your presoak at a temp. of 100-110 degrees. In the winter I would increase the temp. to at least 120 to compensate for heat reduction going to the bays. Using just hot water to through your hydrominder would not work in the long run since the heat would dissapate...

Try calling Fragramatics maybe they send you one as a loaner for a small charge. Believe me the extra .25 will pay for a new one anyway.

    Help with 6 bay wash!!

Check the filters and the pills in the hydrominders to make sure their not clogged too. You might not have enough soaps in your tanks so I would add soap directly into the tanks just to make sure you have enough in them.

vandels make my life even harder today

Burn a backup disk for yourself. I had a problem last year. The police caught the kids in less than 24 hrs. and they all confessed. I asked the police if they needed a copy and they said no because they had a confession. The police came back to me 8-9 months later and asked if I could burn them...

    Numbers

I'm down 12% this last year. Weather is the number 1 issue. I started in 1977 as a full service car wash operator. In 1978 I started getting into the self service business. The main reason was to whether any economic issues. If the economy got weak and people stopped washing at the full...

If all else fails. Check the hose for cuts in it. I fill the hose in the bay with water to check it. A small cut or two can sapp the suction big time.

    Car Wash Renovation

If the lot is big enough I would look at putting in a small express tunnel instead of the IBA. Cost more but I think it would be more profitable. I had a friend do this a few years ago. On slow summer days he washes between 40-60 cars with 1 person. On busy days he'll wash 120-150. He's been...

About 6 yrs. ago I had an new county inspector come by and after looking over my compressor and boilers said I needed a certain size safety valve on one of my boilers that was 23 yrs. old and had been inspected every year before with no problems. It cost around $250 to get it installed. The next...
