Welds Broken/Cracked on WW Profile Frame

I was told that if you use a high pH detergent and it sits on the frame during non-use hours or overnight, it can eat up the aluminum. However, we use ChemQuest Plummett for our Profile, and it is low pH, however, it does have acid in it.

Welds Broken/Cracked on WW Profile Frame

I've now learned something that adds more to the equation. When WW first came out with the Profile, the Power Wheel Detailers were added as sort of an afterthought, as an option. They are extremely heavy. My guess is WW never took into account the extra weight being dragged back and forth...

Welds Broken/Cracked on WW Profile Frame

After some service was recently done on our Profile and it was tested, the tech heard alot of popping/cracking noises. After inspection, we were shocked to find 18-20 welds in the frame that had cracked or come apart. The Profile was deemed unsafe, and we were down a few more days waiting on a...

Educating Myself on the Industry - Should I get involved?

Certainly interesting. But McDonalds doesn't really care about what's nearby to eat, because they're the center of attention; but it's definitely good for a proposed car wash to know what sort of commercial establishments and restaurants are near their location.

Educating Myself on the Industry - Should I get involved?

I don't think McDonald's is a requirement for a location, although being close to any type of popular fast food place is definitely an advantage. We're in a small town with a Pizza Hut 2 lots from us; a popular Mexican Restaurant across the street; and a state-famous BBQ place about a 1/4 mile...

    Hamilton HTK receipt tape problem

You're not the only one with problems like this. We are having a similar problem with one of our new ICS AutoSentry Pay Station printers. It issues receipts for a couple of days and then backs up. It's actually printing, but the paper doesn't come out, it just keeps rolling in the machine...

Just when you think you've seen it all....

I was horrified and disgusted when contacted by a customer who told me someone had dumped 2 kittens in our vac trash cart. Have been in the car wash business for 7 years and have discovered some nasty and interesting trash, but never this. The outcome, however, was very lucky. There were 2...

    WashWorld APEX video

It looks extremely complicated. Lots of mechanisms to break and maintain.

    Insatallation costs for New IBA

We put in a new Razor last year. WW's installation charges were: $4,000/Installation Kit; $13,000/Labor = $17,000. As Coach says above, did not include electric and plumbing.

    Vacuum dirt keeps getting robbed

I guess we've just been lucky so far. Fingers crossed.

    Vacuum dirt keeps getting robbed

Probably not, but he might check with the manufacturer of his to see whether there's a similar product.

    Vacuum dirt keeps getting robbed

We had a similar incident and bought a metal shroud from GinSan that fits over both locks of the top and bottom compartments. Haven't had a problem since.

    Self Serve RV/Boat Wash Question

I'm seeing more negatives than positives on this idea. I was actually aiming more towards RV's, but evidently that could be a whole different set of problems.

    Self Serve RV/Boat Wash Question

Thanx to all of you for your valuable imput. I've decided to "quit while I'm ahead" and not move forward with this.

    Self Serve RV/Boat Wash Question

Yours looks like a great set up. You have been fortunate not to have the same type of customers we have alot of here in the States. Folks who don't read instruction signs, and are negligent.

    Self Serve RV/Boat Wash Question

Wow. That's definitely something to think about! There's an RV Park right next to our car wash site and another RV/Campground about 5 miles away. I was under the impression those places would have the facilities for the dumping.

    Self Serve RV/Boat Wash Question

My experience has always been with IBA's -- currently have a site with a WW Profile and Razor. Am considering building a tall single bay self-serve on our site specifically for RV's/Trucks/Boats, with steps/ledges on both sides. Is a block structure better than a metal one? What dimensions...

    Coin-Operated Dry Mat Cleaner

Thank your for all your comments. Ours is an unattended IBA; and I can't imagine spending over $6,000 for the machine, and not charging for it. Our vacs are not free; we charge $1 for 4 minutes and they are heavily used. Might have to think on all this for awhile.
