I have used it on Self Serve side with good success but never tried on auto.

Make sure the pulley on motor and flywheel on compressor are not lose.

Check clearance between the prox and the trigger, to much clearance will cause gantry to overide the trigger. Just an idea.

Don't know if you have checked this, but I have had several unsual problems and they have lead to bad ground connection in the gantry ele. box.
