Need advice on J.C. combo vac

The least expensive option would be to put a LED6S timer in it. Maybe he can find used ones on eBay. Otherwise, he'll just have to figure out how to hard wire it to switches.

Did you know Cryptopay has a picture of your meter box on their site? https://www.getcryptopay.com/carwash.php

Cat Pump cup replacement keeps failing???

What pressure are you running? 623 pumps are only rated to 1200 PSI. Are you replacing the cup on the the machined piston? Maybe you're not getting them seated properly. There's a tool that makes it much easier.

    Removing Bill validators

I've used a thin piece of aluminum taped to the backside and an epoxy syringe to front-fill. It self-levels pretty well, and you can cut the aluminum with tin snips.

    Final Straw

FWIW, years ago we attempted a charity wash by donating all income from the automatic bay to some church charity drive. The kids of the group were involved by offering to hand dry the cars for extra tips on top of us donating all the revenue from the auto bay for four hours on a busy Saturday...

    LED6 Vs. LED7

The LED6 display is dot matrix and scrolls smoother, but there seems to be more problems with the display failing. You're right, they have basically the same features. FWIW I just switched my LED7 timers to "RETRO" which means it just displays the start-up price static and doesn't even scroll...

Dixmor LED 7 and Vac It Up

The two modern systems I've seen use regular vacuum timers to turn on the motor after every few pulses. You may need to use a relay on the coin signal for it to trigger two different timers, but that's not at all complicated.

Upgrade Gold Line to process via ethernet

You have to have an ethernet adaptor, around $300, and a D.A.N. unit which is something like $4500, about $1k cheaper if you do the one without a touch display. Cryptopay is only like $500. You'll get hit with extra fees about the same with a D.A.N. as with Cryptopay. I'd stick with dialup...

This one customer was so clueless...

I've had that happen a number of times. The worst one was when I had just gotten to the wash to shut it down because of a water emergency. I had a cop on the phone threatening me to get it shut down and was doing my best, had a cone in front of every bay and was about to shut off the breakers...
