Clean the mechanism with rubbing alcohol and q-tips. Throw away the wd-40, it will gum it up. Strip the oil out and clean the mechanism. Make sure that it closes correctly.

My best suggestion for you is to go work at the type of business you are considering buying. $400k in smoothies. Really? $1100-$1400 a day. If you are talking about investing $1m then taking a month and investing your time would be cheap enough.

Well, most of the weight will be in the center. The center 4' will bear more weight than any other 4' of the base. I was afraid of the wood warping and not supporting weight over time. especially in a humid environment.

I'd check the security camera to see who was doing it after I put locks on. Then I would have the thieves prosecuted for theft and vandalism. Security cameras are so cheap now, there is really no excuse not to have them.
