    Am I wasting salt?

I'm not sure I ever dealt with in my life group of guys that I felt were a more knowledgeable about the product they sold than as those at Pacific Water Softeners in Salt Lake City. They've walked me through a few issues I've had with my Fleck heads and water softener system with ease. I...

Been having a ongoing problem with my SoftGloss XS

What caused yours? Shot air cylinders? When I rebuilt mine with new rollers and air cylinders, I used absolutely no kind of lube/grease thinking it would attract dirt & debris thinking it would lead to build up and eventual binding and wear. A tech suggested I lube everything - rails...

    Blue/Gray foot valves.

I use the Dema ones linked below. Other than one failed one in ~16 ( they've been in service much longer as well as while the wash was shut down for about a year) months out of about 20, they've been working well...

Who would live above a carwash?

Population of county is about 150K. Not sure about how much it would rent as the first owners/builders committed a mortal mistake. They made the entrance to the apt. through the equipment room rather than separating it on outside.

Been having a ongoing problem with my SoftGloss XS

Still having this issue. First I let a local tech take it on as he guaranteed me it was the air cylinders ( this is after he screwed me before telling me the nylon wheels were worn on the scrubbers - I never learn. I try to keep the business local, but despise parts changers that moonlight...

Who would live above a carwash?

My wash has a 3BR 1BA apt above it. It's nicer than my house. If I were a single guy I'd be living up there. .

    New Income Idea

Might be something to explore. Out west a lot of people live "off the grid" and have cistern wells for domestic water use. I'll have to look into it

    RV/ SEMI wash?

I can't offer much advice on full/self, but I'd mention that on of my competitors gets a lot of the RV business in our area. He has an outdoor(grandfathered) bay with platforms on both sides. It's always busy.

What % of your gross revenue come from vacuums?

Been considering making some changes to my vac prices as I feel they are underutilized. I believe it *could* be in part due to 2 competitors nearby. One has free vacs the other is $.50/4min. Currently I'm at about 1% of gross from vacs. I spoke to another SS owner ( owns 3 small washes in...

Repair Asphalt where concrete pad ends

I own a few commercial rental properties as well as my wash now for a year. Until now, I usually farmed out my sealcoating and crack sealing but this year I'm going to try sealing the cracks myself - better. I noticed the same as you last winter, my first in the business, where water would...
