What do you think about this?

I think those are commercial. I've seen a number of professional detailers use them. I didn't realize it connects to a vacuum - I was concerned it was just blasting the grime deep into the upholstery instead removing it.

    Unrealistic asking prices

I recently talked to a guy who has had his wash for sale for ten years. Four years ago he wanted $600k, now he wants $1.2 million. He got a bite from a bank, but he tried to get $1.7 million out of them and they walked away. So yeah, there are those "motivated sellers" that can't deal with it...

    Cryptopay forcing switch

Probably not, since the packet of data sent/received for CC processing is just a few kilobytes. Internet "speed" isn't how fast the data gets somewhere, it's how much data can move in a given time.

    Cryptopay forcing switch

WashGear's equipment is pretty expensive (I think $1800 per unit) but I've talked to someone there that is willing to work with me and Dralco to mount their equipment in a custom door and bring the cost down to about $1000 per bay. Still pricey, but it's really solid and reliable stuff, and you...

    Cryptopay forcing switch

I don't see why there should be a hassle dealing with credit card companies. With the Hamilton D.A.N. system and E-xact processing there were never any issues, except that the fees were even worse than with Cryptopay. FWIW I watched video of an entire busy Saturday, counted cars that were...

Self serve high pressure functions not working

I'm glad you got it fixed quickly, and thanks for coming back with an update.

How to secure lower door on vacuum?

I've seen more than three people go through the vacs in one night. There must be 20 regulars along with a number of randoms. I still haven't cut pieces of angle to bolt on for lock hasps, but I'm betting I'll have to beef up the hinge side too. If I have any problems I'll probably put angle...

    Waxing with a brush?

The Simoniz UVP trifoam I use has instructions to "mitt" the foam into the finish, and even though it's not a wax it does make a noticeable improvement on the shine and the depth of color on a dark paint job. I could see a wax product being added through the foam brush.

Self serve high pressure functions not working

Check power from the rotary switch. It should have two layers of outputs, one for each individual function's solenoid, the other just for power to the motor. Kindly report back when you have found and fixed the problem. This is not a paid help desk where you don't have to come back to at...

    Temporary pumps

A single Flojet will definitely handle 6 bays, but it sure works hard to do it. I'd have connected both pumps and banks of solenoids together. Right now you have an advantage over my setup in that if a pump fails only half your bays are without FB. You're partly right about the double Flojet...

    Cryptopay forcing switch

It must be "Big Dollar Coin" who owns Worldpay, and they are singlehandedly trying to crash the entire "customers spend 50% more" credit card industry.

    Foot Valves

I cut the hose length to just reach the bottom and weight the end if necessary.

    General Pump leaking

They're rebuildable without much difficulty. The only specialty tool you'll need is a good snap ring pliers. It'll cost you about $300 in parts to rebuild, $3000 to replace it. Check the oil to see if it's milky - if it is, replace the plunger seals and check the plungers for cracks.

How to secure lower door on vacuum?

That's what I've been hoping since I got this wash in a bad neighborhood, 10 months later I'm still cleaning out the vacs every night and finding a mess almost every morning.

    Addind a second IBA

A lot of people have added a second IBA when they have a touchless with a frequent line behind it, or when they have a touchless and nearby competing friction that isn't run well, in which case they add a friction unit. IMO you'd be better off improving and promoting your self serve.

    Pneumatic grease gun

I generally use the pistol-grip type, but I can see a pneumatic one being handy if you're pumping a large volume. The machines I used to work on only needed a tiny amount in each zerk.

    Foot Valves

The biggest problem I've had with the Hydrominder ones is that when the hose gets hard they won't seal inside it anymore. I've been putting a zip-tie around the hose as a clamp for years and haven't had problems with them in years. A few years back I started cutting a length of hose that I...

A little bit of humor to start or end your day

He knows his stuff about car repair, but obviously nothing about washing them. The last bit made me laugh out loud, the "dirt all over the place" from the horrible job it did is the crud from around the trunk gap that got flushed or blown out by the dryer because he's too much of a slob to ever...

You might be able to splice it with a coupler barb for foam brush, but not for high pressure.
