Converting a Bay to a Detail shop

I don't think either option is very feasible. I think you should either run the detail operation yourself or convert the bay to self-serve car wash or install a new IBA.

    Razor edge vs Xr7

I think there is an adjustable temp. setting for that in the Razor programming. I thought it monitored the temp in the bay and shut down the wash when it gets too cold, to prevent freezing. Then, when it warms up enough it re-opens the wash.

    Site revamp ROI

Replacing 15 year old equipment is just what I'm doing at my wash. My revenue is definitely going to increase based on higher price points across all packages; I'm aiming for $17 avg per car. So, I would set a new pricing strategy first and then apply your current sales figures to the new...

    Gray water dumping at wash?

I wouldn't allow it for the reasons posted above, plus who is going to monitor the process? Would you meet them there to oversee the process? How do they pay? What is the rate? The car wash is designed for dirt from the roadway, not food waste. NO DEAL!

    Another strange Cryptopay issue

I recently upped my max per swipe to $20 because I noticed many were spending past the $15 limit I had set.

Friction Or Touchless In Bay Auto??

I can't imagine running a friction machine and being unattended. A lot of operators do it, but I see many pitfalls potentially. There are enough customers who will accuse you of scratching and damaging the car, whether or not their complaints Are valid. I just don't want to deal with that...

How do you like the Washworld machine so far?

    Razor edge vs Xr7

Yes, I think that spending the extra money on a higher model wash World's machine will pay dividends in productivity and increased throughput. I understand that with such a big purchase the instinct is there to try and keep costs in check, But over the life of the machine I don't think 20 or...

    Razor edge vs Xr7

I'm installing a Razor this year. Really looking forward to it. And, FWIW, everyone wants things cheaper, not just your customers. My wash is in a low-mid income area and that does not deter me from offering a $15 pkg that 90+% are buying. My competitors pushed it to $20 recently, and I...

How has everyone faired vs tunnel?

If I were trying to compete with the tunnel, I would have all the options I could on my self serve bays, including credit card acceptance with count up display. I would have a Phone app for my automatic wash and possibly for all the equipment. You can create customer loyalty rewards programs and...

The windshield fell out- for real?

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=500473 first thing to check is for mfg recall notices . i quickly found this thread on a camaro message board. if there is a known problem with this model, car wash is not responsible.

    Pit-y the fool

In 2019 I had a sewer problem which required me to climb into the tank and jet the line myself. This took hours. The problem was the 'plumber' had connected my new sewer pumps incorrectly, so the wrong diagnosis of the problem was made. THIS was the hardest job at the car wash for me...

    Normal business ?

I feel like there are alot of businesses in 'lazy' mode right now. I stopped using my normal gas station because the owner limited his hours and isn't open early when I'm going to work or later when I'm going home.

    Ryko OHD Problem

I would try to repair the one you have. To someone good at soldering, replacing a relay on a circuit board shouldn't be too hard, right? If it also saves reprogramming that is a big plus!

    Major life decision

I think you've gotten some really good advice here. I'm kind of surprised at the lack of due diligence you seem to be performing with such a big potential investment. I think the car wash business is pretty hands-on. I can see the type of management that it takes to be successful being very...

Converting a Razor 3 to a rain bar

yes I've done a bunch of reengineering on my machine over the years. I managed to squeeze a lot of extra life out of it that way I think. But now I'm really looking forward to a honeymoon period With a new machine, where I can fill the soaps, run it and make money.
