    no suction

I am sorry, but I can't help but think that a sealed vac will not have dry bags in 24 hours.

    Clean Walls

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I would suggesting skipping the brick cleaning and cover with FRP or one of the other similar typoe materials.

    no suction

    1. There is a chance you have a bad new motor. Let the vac run with the door open. Do both motors spin? 2. Is there a screen immediately below the motors to stop debris if a baf fails? Is it clogged. If yes makesure the bags don't have holes. 3. Have you inspected the bags? Are they clogged...

    Add On Advice

My combo Shampooers are $3.00 to Sahmpoo. I have a stnad alone at 1 place at $2.00 The Coleman Fragrance Hose Assembly is about $125.00 (metal Gun) . Much superior to the JE Adams units (Plasstic Gun) and about the same price. I've used it to replace the JE Adams hose assemblies. The...

    Blower Hose

My AVW Blower Hose is disintegrating. Sonny's is out of Stock. Wally from AVW is on the road. Mike unavailable. Guys at AVW right now aren't in the business long enough to even remember this type. Found several types in the McMaster Carr catalog ranging from 2psi spec to 8 PSI with various...

Looking for creative way to store extra hoses.

Depends on the Hose. Vac hoses are looped over one of the gas or water pipes suspended from the ceiling. It's a high ceiling so they just hang down 10 feet on either side. For HP hoses I either have 12-18" Shelf brackets on the wall and hang the coils by type on the brackets. Another...

So What Else Can I add?

If you have an extra SS function, Mr. Hoffman put in a boom for compressed aitr that people can use to blow out crevices etc. Has the air metered to 60psi. Always thought that was good and not as hard to do as triple foam. Seperate Tire / wheel brush seems good also.

    Wobble Head Foam Brush Revisited

Most coily hoses are not as durable as FB hoses. In fact I use HP hoses because regular FB hoses tend to crimp at the handle when stored which stops thhe weep. Anyway, would a hose a couple of feet shorter work?

    Determining Gas & Electric Costs

Great question. I think Bill has the only realistic answer. For gas and electric you may very well have a baseline. You need heat and floor heat and lighting even if you wash zero cars. There are so many variables involved in the process the only realistic way to do it is based on your...

    mitter cloth

Because top brushes are a PITA. I have 3. One tunnel with 2 and one with one. If I have the space I'd go with 3 mitters. 1 FTB and 2 STS or favorite setup has 3 AVW with 2 in one direction and one in another. Top Brushes have issues with Pickups, Taxis with roof top ads - Big Time, and all...

    mitter cloth

Saw this at the ICA show. I think AVW had something similar. I didn't "get it" the larger the material, the greater the issues with "bridging" across contours rather than getting in nooks and crannies.

    KleenRite Vacuum Dualer

Not at the wash nw. Will check. I think we put Hose clamps on both fittings that surround the hoses. Makes them stay more securely. Never occurred to me not to use the hose clamps.

    Vac Upgrades...What Would You Do?

Reading some comments I can't help but wonder if there is a difference for the Vac and specificaly Combo vac usage at SS vs EE. FWIW I have Coleman Combos. (15 among 4 locations) Very few issues. Every couple of years I need to replace a Shampoo or scent hose. Once in a while a compressor...

    Anybody Paint Vac Dome?

Home depot has a spray paint for plastic. Used it for the red coleman tops. Looks great last at least a year, easy to do. Downside - Light doesn't shine thru very well.

Help: Key things to know when purchasing an existing Self Serve?

Beware of snakes in the grass. It's always nice to buy a place and learn you forgot to see when the last time they pumped the pits was and look at an addittional expense of $$$Thousands to take care of this.

Help: Key things to know when purchasing an existing Self Serve?

Things vary widely by location. Are you in a cold climate? You'll pay a lot more for floor and trough heat, equipment room heat than someone in a warmer climate. Water rates also vary widely. I am not sure what you lumped into "Fixed expenses" Insurance? Scavenger? Phone? Accounting...
