Another Newbie-1st Post-Value of Existing Wash?

After selling my wash last month, I agree with most of the posts above. You can make some $$ at this business but it is not as easy as it appears on the surface. You need to own multiple washes to achieve critical mass if you don't want to, or can't, do the day-to-day handy work. Building...

Anyone have a database of Car Wash Manufacturers

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had a database of car wash manufacturing companies or knows where to get the information without paying a fortune. (names, addresses, phone #'s, emails, etc) Thanks, Buzzie

PDQ Access Unit Sending Error Message that internal temperature has fallen below 41

Very frigid weather in PA this evening. I just received emails that my Access units internal temperature has fallen below 41 degrees. I am not sure what the consequences of this are. Does anyone know what effect freezing has on Access as it is zero outside and dropping another 10 to 15 degrees...

Oh, by the way, I have floor heat and guns are pointed into metal grate.

Wand On The Floor vs. In The Holster In Cold Weather

I closed my wash for the first time in 9 years because of the sub zero temps. I opened up the weep and laid the guns on the bay floor instead of in their holsters. My past experience has me thinking that this might be a better option because most of my freeze-ups have occurred when the holster...

Need new entry units, major theft last night

I replaced my Entry Wizards with Access B units from PDQ. They have been very reliable and work well with my WW 1.0's. PM me I might have the inside track on two used units. I can fill you in on the details.

How cold is cold when not to open the wash?

Forecast calling for sub zero in Pittsburgh on Monday - Wed. I think I'm closing both my locations for all three days. IBA usually opened 24/7/365 I don't think it is worth the hassle to try and stay open.

    Merry Christmas....maybe

My thoughts are with you. I was diagnosed with Crohn's about three years ago and it sometimes makes the day-to-day difficult at the wash. I admire that you are still able to do it. Only those who own car washes know that the day-to-day can be a lot more grueling than most people think. Hope your...

    Water Reclaim Systems

I think you are having a problem. You should not be losing prime every two days no matter what. My filter is cleaned once a month and I never lose prime.

    managing/operating someone else's wash

There is too much information missing here. If the wash was performing well and it was foreclosed on because the previous owner defaulted for a reason other than poor performance I might tell the bank, I will take over the loan with them having full recourse. After you pay the bills, you get...

    Kudos to Laurel Vending!

I have had the same great experience with Laurel. I wish they could convince the Little Tree company to upgrade their graphics though! I bought a new decal from KR to upgrade a 80's girl with big hair in a Corvette and they sent something that was only slightly better. So bad it was not worth...

    Coleman Shampoo Hose Assembly

Vin, My poly tube is not working out as well as originally reported. It is starting to kink at brush head. It's too bad because otherwise it would be much better than braided hose. Just a heads up.

JCC is now using a new non-baldor oscillating motor. Texas Car Wash supply sells them as well as a bunch of other JCC parts cheaper than JCC.

Photos of my set up. If you look close my undercarriage pipe somehow bent in the middle which is great because it no longer twists in the wrong direction!

    Water Reclaim Systems

I have a PurClean for almost three years now. It saves me about 40-50% on water and sewage. I am not a big fan of their Ozone system because of some expensive maintenance every two years (ozone cell and oxygen concentrator replacement) but over all it is a money saver. Especially when the tank...

    Undercarriage Floor pipe Tires spinning

I have a small stainless plates over mine that each have holes drilled in them and are bent in a slight tent shape to go over pipe. I still occasionally have vehicles spin on the plate when they have bald tires. I'll try to remember to take photo tomorrow. Remind me if you don't hear back from me.
