With all the new equipment and upgrades soaps and such, you should be able to justify at least $1.75. As long as you keep the bays clean and make repairs quickly, the customers should have no problem paying that little extra for a "new and improved" wash.

We take a mop, some warm soapy water and wipe it down. If there's lot of grime built up, we take a mild grease-cutter and spray that on first and let it sit for a couple minutes before washing with the mop. Our guys wash them at least once/week.

How do you find the length when washing a dually 3/4 ton? We sometimes have bucket trucks come through and cube vans, too... would that shortening of the hose still enable the customer to reach all the way around?

I'll suggest a shorter hose... even 5" shorter should work. You're absolutely right!

Our 8 bays are 19"x25" with overhead swinging booms. Contact with the cement is inevitable when smaller cars come through. We have hooks all over the place, too... but you know how customers leave the bays! Anyone install a type of sleeve over the hose that might come in contact with the floor?
