    Theft

We had 4 SS tops for Adams vacs stolen a couple of years ago and my employee ran into a homeless guy with a cart taking them to the local junk yard. We had padlocks (Wilson Bohannon), but it was an easy fix and put them back on the vacs. They were about $350.00 if we had to replace them. We...

    Foam Brush Pressure Regulator

Putting a check valve between the regulator and the manifold should take care of your problem. One thing you might also check is the whether the gauge on your air line is correct. Two dissimilar lines feeding into one line without a check valve would cause this problem. Years ago we changed...

Deleting Fresh Water Tank and Feeding Cat Pumps Directly

If you put a solenoid valve at the entrance to the platform's water supply (both hot and cold if that's what you have) you'll solve the problem of the Robert's valve and the overflowing and is simple to do. That will solve the over-flow problem as it takes the pressure off of the float valve...

    A follow up

Bill, This is a good reason to require posters to post their name instead of initials or alias's or whatever. mmc created a hell of a problem in my book knocking a company that's been around (I believe) longer than I have in this industry and have done some great innovations producing new...

    A follow up

mmc, It would seem to me that you need a reality check! If you think that the SS manufacturers and suppliers show up for work, press a button and start manufacturing, then think again. If you look at ANY SS equipment, you will see that most of the in-house manufacturing may be the platforms...

    New $5 Bill Test Results

Soapy, my Cummins accepted and counted the new bills also. We put the new chips in our XE's last week and started getting the new 5's. I tested the new 5's in an XE at the shop and it took the new 5 once and paid on the test and rejected it after the first acceptance. I figured we'd have to...

A tip of the hat to Wash World

Rykopro you're defending something that you haven't checked out. Mac has offered you phone numbers to back up what he says. To me it sounds like you're shooting the messenger! Rather than defending why don't you check it out?

A tip of the hat to Wash World

The idea of sueing someone is ridiculous! Say he beats me out of a hundred thousand bucks, doesn't perform and or whatever. You name the crime! The Attorney's going to tell you it's going to cost this much and it will take 2 years to get into court and you will have paid the attorney probably...

How Does Automatic System Work? Did I get ripped off?

You should have confronted the employee at the time and it could have been an honest mistake. However now I would contact the owner or manager. If the manager is the same guy that took your money then I would contact the owner for sure.

    Air Logic Tri Foam System?

I have had Air Logic Systems in 8 of my washes for the past 6 years. They work "fine", "excellent" "trouble free" (is that vague?) and they have covers over the solution tanks. I don't know whose system you're talking about MEP but it must not be the system that we have and that Air Logic...

    Air Logic Tri Foam System?

Air Logic builds a GOOD system! I've got their system in all of our car washes and they work well and are trouble free. We have their foam brush system, presoak/tire cleaner system and triple coat so I'm not quite sure what MEP's talking about, but ours work fine. Besides working well, they...

    Tokens

We dispense dollar tokens only but all equipment accepts quarters, dollars and dollar tokens. Probably for fifteen or more years primarily because of vandalism. We have a Brandt sorter that works almost perfect. It sorts the large tokens into the 50 cent bag, quarters in the quarter bag and...

vandels make my life even harder today

Doug, I feel your pain! 2 years ago we had a vendor island w/changer etc cut down and stolen. We had videos of one of the culprits. Police came, cut DVD's, we put out a $500.00 dollar reward etc., and within 2 days had his name and address. Informant(s) didn't want to be known because they...

Water in Cat 3535 pump oil?

Rudy, We have always used Cat Oil in our pumps and if there is moisture or water getting into the crankcase it also will turn milky white. As I said in my original post if the crankcase filled up we replaced the oil seals and that solved the problem. If it was just milky but didn't increase...

Water in Cat 3535 pump oil?

Mep I beg to differ with you. There is a stainless steel "slinger" in front of the oil seal that provides back-up protection for the crank case seal. If the oil seal is bad and water is bypassing the high pressure seals it's going to get into the crankcase. I don't know of any other scenario...

    Need Advice

We have our service truck come with a floor jack if it's in a bay for any length of time and move it out. Once we had a female druggie passed out and she wouldn't respond so I called the fire department. They came and of course the police follows. After taking her to the hospital (she had a...

Water in Cat 3535 pump oil?

Rudy, if you check the back sight glass on the pump and the oil is still in the center of the red dot and has not risen then that's condensation from inside the machinery room. If the oil has increased in volume and has moved above the sight glass then it's time change the oil seals.
