    Talk about sticker shock.

$500 for a vinyl cutter and about $100 materials and you can make your own...plus have a sign maker any future stuff you want to do. For me its been one of the best carwash purchases I've make.

    Interesting Dollar Coin Read

Up here in the great white north, we've had the dollar coin since 1987 and the two dollar coin since 1996 (much like the Euro). We have started changing all the bank note to polymer bills which should be completed later this year ($5 up to $100). We have also discontinued the penny and changed...

    New Marketing Program

So I have a wash with 8SS bays and 1 IBA. The IBA is busy enough but with 8 SS bays, the availability of at least one bay is 99%. So I want to introduce RFID and time of day specials. But my concern is loading up the IBA that it deters full ticket customers from lining up. So offloading them...

Anybody doing RFIDs in SS bays?

I'd like to start doing this. I see exacta has it...about $5k for the main system and $2k per bay!

    Stand Alone Air Shammee

HWC, I would just make one myself. Three side discharge vac motors connected together, controlled by daisy chaining three 24vac relays. Boom, hoses and nozzle (can all be purchased from Kleenrite). About half the price of new...

    Web controlled gates?

Mud, Not sure I completely understand the question. Do you want it to automatically close down the IBA when the machine goes out of service, or do you want to remotely close down the wash when you want too? Is it just one IBA or the property you want to prevent access? There are multiple...

Changing a modem in wash select 2

WSII change from dialup to Internet has a couple of options. With or without the washpay server. With the Washpay server, you can add SS bays, track everything real time, etc. For that you may need to update the motherboard & firmware, get an NIC board for it and the washpay server...it'll be...

Successful Social Media Strategies For Car Washes

I was thinking the same, but I had visions of people standing in the bays on busy days watching each option video. I also did an unofficial pole on using who had QR readers on their smartphones. Nobody I asked did...heck I worked in cellular/wireless for 19 years and consider myself an early...

Successful Social Media Strategies For Car Washes

Yup...pretty awful. Not sure why the aspect ratio got messed up...it use to be OK. I actually decided not to use it but it kept getting so many hits!

Successful Social Media Strategies For Car Washes

Hmmmm...this thread should be called "Unsuccessful Social Media Strategies For Car Washes" Social Media is a funny thing and I don't feel enough is going on with car washes to create much of a buzz. Having said that, I have a webpage, facebook and google biz info on the web. None do very...

    High definition vidio security systems

I would also like to know what Ethernet switch you are using, how much memory do you have for how many cameras and how many days you can go before it "eats its tail" and your ability to remote view with such large files?

Customer claims pressure removed some paint from his bumper

I agree with everything said above (except for MJ Walsh...I have no idea what point he's trying to make). Beyond that, I take the customer into the bay, turn on HP rinse and put my hand in front of the nozzle to show him the water intensity (or lack of). I explain to him how the tip fans out...

    Never new you got robbed

For those T-handle type locks with most pop machines, thieves would drill a whole just under the keyed area of the barrel lock. Then insert a pin to release the locking latch of the barrel lock and open the door. That's why the covers are so popular.

    Digital Street Sign

Two things come up when considering one of these signs. First, the cost...they are expensive. Second, city approval. Most municipalities are not too crazy about these signs as they feel they are a distraction to drivers.

    Vac it up system.

I have one and love it. Not sure if how hard it will be to install for you as mine was a new build. But I would not build one without it ans sorry that I did not extend it to the vac coin vaults :(

    Message/Call Centers/Apps??

I use ringcentral.com Same idea...plus a lot more. I don't use it the way you want to but I find it helpful as a call router. SO depending on the time of day or changes I make, our toll free number routes to different phones. Big

    Rugged CCTV dvr issue

Either a DNS service (like Dyndns) or just get a static IP address. Some carriers now have it as low as $15/mth. Having your own IP address also gives other benefits, like the ability to have your own mailserver and do bulk mailing, etc.
