I have two American Changers at my wash. Rear load model 2221. Something happened 6 days ago. Suspect someone tried to string them. When turned on both stackers constantly keep cycling. Tech support has offered no solutions. So I ordered complete guts to one. Six days ago. Called yesterday asking where are my parts. They said parts on back order. Should ship today. So a full week with no quarters. Can’t wait for the wash sale to close.

Sorry you’re having trouble. Just be glad you’re not this guy that posted on one of the FB groups
That is nuts. I fear we will all soon have to go cashless as this becomes a regular occurrence.

I’m already at 50% credit cards and just read about a phone app where you pay with it. For the near future I think we need to keep using quarters.

That's one of primary reasons I DON'T recommend a front mount bill changer at a car wash. I've seen this happen to many times.

I am fortunate to be on a very street and there is a police substation in sight 200’away.

I think your problem might be the bill validators. If you'd have bought a Hamilton DRS you'd still be in business.

That's kind of a false sense of security. A good thief could have a bill changer gone before the police can put down thier donuts and coffee and waddle out to their car to see what the noise is.

Well that’s just the country we live in. Tech support said someone tried to string it and it recognized it and shut down.

Great point. A few years ago, in Baltimore, there is a restaurant across from a police station. Some idiot tried to rob it during an officer's retirement celebration there.

I've tried to get a call back from Standard Change-Makers for two weeks now! I keep getting a random "Jackpot" error on one of my dispensers and so far I cannot find out anything about this.

Is it just my experience or are bill changers about the most un-reliable piece of equipment at a car wash? haha

Just heard back from tech support. Even though my changer is only around 2 years old, they no longer have the parts for an old one.

I’m beginning to think so. They do however take a lot of dirty bills and stringing attempts. Tech never could explain how both went into the exact failure mode at the same time

None now. They sent me parts to upgrade. Thanks for the offer though. May get back to you for the other one.

What model Standard changer do you have? Which model validator in installed? Standard changers are pretty simple changers, I've sold a lot of them to laundromats. Servicing them can be a challenge sometimes. I prefer the Hamilton changers over any of the other ones.

I have American Changers. I’m not even sure the bill acceptors and stackers are bad.
