Coinless Mobile

Is anyone using this program? Curious about support. Have been reaching out to company for demo with not a lot of success. Thanks in advance for any feedback anyone is willing to share!!

There is a long thread about it on here, coinless was acquired a few months back. They were already having issues before the sale, but doesn't seem like it got better after the sale like everyone was hoping.

Using it and it works well. But Coinless was bought by everwash a few months back and it's unclear whether everwash intends to promote and improve it. A couple people have speculated everwash bought it for the technology. It's put me in a state of suspended animation, I really don't want to push it on customers if it's going to eventually fold so I'm not promoting it. Touch4wash offers many of the same features and has an active owner, take a look at them.

Hey Greg,

Thanks for the call out. Happy to assist here. Let me know if I can provide any details to help.

Glad this thread was created because similarly, I've reached out to Coinless about three times in the last few months with no response. Will check out the other options listed here.

I'm so disappointed that EverWash isn't offering better support for the Coinless app, or pursuing new customers. We implemented the Coinless app in September 2022 at our SS wash. So far, over 3700 customers have downloaded it and their feedback has been very positive! Usage is increasing each month, and averages 12% of sales. We also accept cash, credit and debit cards.

Where I used to be able to call Coinless directly for support, now I need to email them at - support@coinlessmobile.com. Usually takes 1-2 days to hear back, but they have been helpful. A couple months ago I was having trouble getting 2 vacuums back on-line. They sent me 2 new Coinitos and walked me through the installation process. All good now & hope it stays that way!! :)

Hi Kimberly - Please give me a call to discuss EverWash and our support of Coinless. We are continuing to support and sell the app and I am happy to discuss any concerns you may have. 215-668-3420 - Mike Stern

Hi Mike, thank you for your repy and post. I'm good! Mark Limburg has been very responsive at EverWash and Nick Koumarianos in tech support helped me resolve my network issues in August.

If you haven't already, please reach out to the 2 posts above who are looking for assistance (Southwest MI Car Wash and CarwashBuenoBueno).
Thank you!! :)

I purchased a car wash in December of 2024 that had the Coinless app installed and running for over 2 years. What I have discovered is they have a MAJOR flaw in their app that exposes the merchant to massive fraud. When people sign up for the app and download they automatically receive $5 of credit on their account and every $50 they spend they receive $5 of credit, sounds great right?
What I have discovered is people setting up fake accounts and receiving the $5 over and over again. The average fraud is $10 up to $40 per person that is doing this. Coinless only checks to see if the phone number they set up is valid and gives them the $5 of credit. I have brought this to Everwash and Coinless attention to correct this major app flaw, they will need to correct the program or I will be canceling it.
It has cost me a couple hundred dollars per month so far, I hate to think how much the previous owner has lost. The cost of processing the Coinless transactions are already 8-10% which is on the high side already, the cost of eating the fraud is unacceptable. And believe me, the word about the flaw gets around.
The Coinless app program seemed like a great thing and I was about to add it to my other self serve wash, that plan is on hold until something is done to correct it.

Thanks for the info Randy. Keep us posted. The coinless system has worked without any major issue for me but Ive recently noticed a lot of people getting their $5 credit and using it and that only. I'd be willing to remove the $5 sign up incentive altogether from my system if that is an option, or give it only after a verifiable first purchase .

It’s definitely a huge flaw… I was able to play around with it and created several new accounts in minutes all giving me $5 credits. You can make multiple email addresses all from your phone. You only need access to those emails just for a one time verification code and then use any random phone number, as long as it’s valid. People can make several new emails consecutively and wash entirely with all the free credits. Something definitely needs to be done with the app to protect the merchant.

Coinless has said that the $5 sign up credit is part of platform and can not be modified. The app would be great if they ( Coinless) could assign the account to your device ID, 1 account per device.

I found it by watching the customer numbers… they usually are consecutive numbers for only $5 with bogus names and emails. I have a conference call with ever wash and coinless tomorrow, I’ll let you know what the outcome is.

I had the same issue. Nothing they can do. One guys got over $400 worth of time. Was washing 2x per day, even in the rain. I finally caught him and put a stop to it.

Hi Randy,

I'm glad you're meeting with EverWash tomorrow. They need to take this seriously! There must be more security in place, preventing customers from creating bogus accounts. Part of the problem is that when a customer creates a Coinless profile, the Verification Code is NOT texted to their cell phone number - it's emailed to them. And it's free, quick & easy to create different email addresses.

When we installed Coinless at your car wash in Septemer 2022, we suspected some bogus accounts, but nothing serious. By April 2023, Coinless had integrated enhanced cell carrier filtering using "Twilio Lookup API". Now, the carrier name and type are verified during signup, which prevents customers from using a VOIP or landline phone number.

In June 2024, we discovered "Scott Wesley" had created 20 bogus accounts. I notified Braden & Connor at Coinless and Scott at EverWash. Connor couldn't understand how Scott Wesley was able to create numerous bogus accounts, since Twilio is designed to filter out any VOIP or landline numbers. Braden told me that Coinless ensures that only valid cell numbers can be used to create a Coinless account. So if someone was creating bogus accounts, they would have to be paying for legitimate cell numbers and most people only have one cell phone. When I asked Braden about turning OFF the $5 FREE CREDIT, he told me they can't, that "it's baked into the software" and tied to their whole credit, loyalty program system. He was going to reach out to their Development Team, and warned me that it was not a quick, or easy undertaking.

In August 2024, we discovered that "Scott Vanderwilt" had created 7 bogus accounts, using 3 different credit cards. He had pre-paid on all the accounts, and was now asking for me to refund him the balance of $98.33. I notified Mark Limburg (Director of Membership Support) at EverWash. I asked him to block and cancel Scott's accounts, which he was able to do.

Please keep us posted on the outcome of the meeting. I'll be in touch with you personally, and can provide more details.

Good morning Kim! This is Holly! 🥰

I’m not sure that Twilio is working as it should. I was able to make “fake” accounts (for research purposes 😉) yesterday all using a mix of both cell phones and landlines. It was very easy and quick.

This morning, I just tried using all landlines and it let me create a new account each time with a $5 credit.

Based on the account names that we can see, It also seems they are using a website called “payposs.com” that offers the user a temporary disposable email address… here’s some info from online about it -
“Yes. payposs.com is a disposable email domain (often referred to as a temporary or throwaway domain), meaning the mailboxes usually exist for a very short time.”
