I'll do my best to answer. This was our second wash we took over that was strictly quarters, so this was a net-new install install. We have
Nayax at our other wash, that I am planning to change over at some point this year.
Installation, if replacing a CryptoPay swiper does the box use the same holes in our meter plates? Not sure, the readers have 4 bolts with nuts on the back. Nothing a drill press cant knock out.
Owner control website, what does it look like and what functions does it offer owner. Great data reporting, it shows sales by unit, card type, value of
transaction, total count all on a dashboard automatically when you log in. There is a delay on sales reporting between what
Monex shows and what my bank shows, so if I really want to know yesterdays sales I just check the bank deposit.
Monex does have a weird deposit process that MAY create an issue if your bank limits the number of transactions your account can process in a day or month. Mondays for instance show 40+ deposits from Friday and the weekend. When I cross the 500
transaction mark my bank charges a monthly fee so I am keeping an eye on this.
I tried a Nayax box on our vending machine and it is not user or owner friendly - a waste of money. Agree, I have units just on wash bays. I wanted to add 2 on the vacuums to see how they perform before fitting out the rest but voltage in the vac was too high for the readers, and their transformer process seemed not worth the effort. I returned the two extra units no problem.
Can I remotely give a customer time on the box as I can do with CryptoPay? No, but I was told its coming.
What functions are available to users & to owners for configuration? Can I use gift or loyalty cards? I can adjust the price on each unit individually or at one shot. Their tech support is virtual and picks up on the first ring - they can make changes for me remotely which is pretty cool. I asked about gift cards and wash cards and was told its in the beta phase and coming soon.
Are there monthly fees? Yes - this varies based on setup. I originally opted for a wireless 4G cellular router at $50/mo, but we have 2 buildings at 4 & 5 bays respectively. The signal did not reach the second building at all. I was fortunate that I had ethernet already run between both buildings so I ended up returning the router and manually wiring each unit via ethernet through the trough in the celling. Some bays had enough space in the conduit running down the ceiling to the meter box to run the cord internally. Some bays were to tight of a squeeze, so I have an exterior ethernet cord zip tied to the outside of the conduit and through the mounting plate. Ill grab a picture but this was easy. I opted to buy the equipment outright instead of financing it monthly.
Do I have a choice of payment processors, if so who can we use, if not what are the credit card processing fees (all in)? Nope. No option, but its been easy to work with. Dont remember who it is.
What type of tech support do they have? Ideally once installed we do not need any but when we do we want to be able to speak with a human who can help resolve the issue. See above, but I have been pretty impressed. I called on a Saturday before dinner because one reader wasnt processing, someone answered quickly and helped me figure out that I was stupid and unplugged something on my end.
The customer interface is fantastic! I asked customers and they were really impressed. Other wash in town is cryptopay swipe and we've had folks say they come to us because of swipe issues.
