I saw next year the show is to be held at the Sands Convention Center instead of the original convention center also the Sands Convention Center is smaller in size as well.

Any venue would be better than the Las Vegas Conventional Center. My wife and I had to park our rental car at the far south end of the far south parking lot, a very long way from the convention hall - in fact I commented that there were only 5 cars that could possibly be any farther from the convention center than we were. For a one-legged guy it makes for a long walk, then add the walk through the convention hall and booths and blisters were the order of the day.

I much prefer the hotel convention centers where our mfg co has exhibited, i.e., Paris, Mandalay. It's nice to be able to go back to your room for an hour nap in the middle of the show.

While the show was much smaller than past ones, I kind of expected that with the down turn for our industry. Personally, I found several new pieces of equipment and several new advances on the chemcical side. I learned that hamilton, etowah valley, pdq and wash world all offered cost effective upgrades for our equipment. I learned some new ways to effectively use water from both conserve and aquachem.

I was disapointed that D&S brought a touchless IBA that they happily informed me would be replaced later this year. They are getting ready to start testing the friction version next month, so why didn't they bring one just to show.

In talking with friends on the distributor side, they claimed to have been very happy with the show. They all felt that those in attendance were overwhelmingly serious about making a purchase in the very near future. Normally, they come away complaining that the show is more a waste of their time because so many have no intention of buying or upgrading their equimpent. They all felt that was not the case this year.

Well, that's my 2 cents worth.

I liked visiting Jim at Etowah Valley. He seemed to busy with folks looking at his stands whenever I went by.

What type of show special did Etowah valley have? I am looking at his Genesis kit if the price is right. Thanks.

It does amuse me that the companies that spend all of that money to be there, don't seem to spend $2 to train the booth personnel. You want to see one booth that knows what they are doing is DRB. Every person there has a job and they know how to execute it and have the tools to do the job as well. A number of them had the new iPad, God what a neat "toy" I'll be getting one when they add the phone, it apparently will have a camera too, but I probably can live without that.

Its no surprise that DRB Systems has the best organised booth. Dale and Ken Brott are 2 of the best business men I have ever encountered in the carwash industry. They run a very tight ship and are constantly training and re-training their staff. If you ever have a chance to stop by their facility you will come away very impressed.

Which is being disciontinued, the i5000 or the Q?

We were talking about the Q at the time that their salesman told me they were getting ready to start field testing a new friction and touchless machine that would be built on a new platform. I assumed he meant the Q would be the one replaced. He promised to send pictures once they were installed in a couple of weeks. If I get them, I'll try posting them.
