We've done new doors for about a dozen sites over the last couple of years or so where they have completely removed their coin acceptors. I have yet to have one say they regret it. I'm not necessarily in total agreement with them but anecdotally there is positive evidence. I don't think it's going to be a sea change in the industry but there are those out there doing it sucessfully. One I personally worked with said the same as you, his numbers weren't down and he doesn't have to collect, carry, count, and deposit a bunch of quarters and no changer is one less thing to worry about going down. I can think of at least one that went to credit card only recently. It's only been about a month on that one so we'll see.

The two most popular are the Cryptopay and then the Nayax. They seem to be holding up pretty well in the environment.

I’ve gotten a number inquires in the last couple of weeks from operators wanting information on going totally cashless or partially cashless. I know one car wash operator who gets his coin boxes drilled a couple of times a week! His coin boxes look pretty bad, he told me yesterday that he’s just piecing them back together, why replace them if they are going keep ruining them. He’s got great video but the police here won’t or can’t do anything. The large car wash chain here removes the coin boxes and turns off the power when they go home to prevent their equipment from being destroyed at night.

None of the credit cards readers are really very water proof, maybe water resistant.

I have Cryptopay readers on all bays and vacs with no issues. Been there over a year.
