Good luck with it and keep us posted once it is up and running.

Nice looking bay floor.

the rails are galvanized and powder coated steel. The frame of the machine, rotary unions, solenoid valves, hydraulic fittings and connections, all sorts of gearboxes and gears are all stainless. Servo drives, brakes and inverters are Siemens. PLCs are Siemens and Delta. All necessary cabling came with the machine already in conduits. Basically a giant lego for carwash lovers :)

Hard to tell from the pic, but where are the drive wheels on the rail that move the bridge?

I learned the hard way with my first automatic machine that anything but stainless is a big mistake. The bay environment is too harsh for anything else. If they could make everything out of plastic that might be even better!

Thank you for the update. I believe most are interested in how the wash functions and it's reliability over time. If you don't mind posting periodic progress on your experience, that would be great.

fascinating thread, looking forward to martin's updates.

japanese and korean cars faced similar hate and disdain when introduced to the market. its always good to have competition, maybe it'll drive the price of components down. god knows its too high right now.

Stainless is great. Extruded Aluminum, if good quality, will also last a long time. Have seen some in use 15 years and still in good shape.

Yes, but when Japanese and Korean cars were introduced into the US market it they were not anywhere near the quality they are today. Many of them have evolved immensely and it is their current quality that puts them on par with other manufacturers. They didn’t drive the price of domestic cars down because they were not of the same quality, and now that they are comparable, their price is commensurate with other vehicles in the same class. Additionally, the disdain was because of the quality, level of the vehicle, support and dealers and not the country of origin.

The same will hold true with these machines. They will be embraced if the build, operation quality, support and distribution network is on par or better than with the current major manufacturers. If they fall short in any of these areas, they will probably not get a lot of traction. I doubt Honda and Toyota would be selling all the vehicles they are today if they didn’t up their game since they first appeared in the US market.

I will post pictures of equipment room. It's been busy and I don't have any atm. I will also do videos of full wash cycles in real time. As with everything, there is always something to learn and improve.

The carwash has been running for two weeks at about 40 cars a day.

Installation went pretty smooth, took 7 working days for 4 guys to do it, 2 of which didn't have any previous experience. We had installation manual and online support from manufacturer.

Here's a video of full wash cycle the way it works it uses two detergents one acid and one alkaline and a wax, there is a fourth one, polishing agent for lava foam systems which is not used in the video. High pressure wash is done with softened water, for chemicals and final rinse we use osmotic water.

Congratulations on the set up.

My only thought was it takes a little longer than expected to wash. Mine does the full wash in 6 minutes yours looks to be about 8.

Good luck and keep us updated.

I do not like the contouring function. On American vehicles (roof racks/bike racks/ladder racks/etc) that would be a nightmare. Dryer setup looks good. They were smart to use the flat nozzle design.

As said above, very long wash time.
