Hello everyone -- I purchased a 6 bay self serve car wash yesterday and now the fun begins. Before the purchase I was able to test all of the equipment and most everything has checked out. However, the owner had leased the property before and the tenant skipped town with all of the keys to the property. I have 2 round vaults (cannot find the brand) and all of the pad locks on the meters, vacs etc. I have had 2 locksmiths look at the vaults and both have said there is nothing they can do.

I know this is a touchy subject for a newbie to ask about but any help is appreciated. All of the meters, vacs etc have the steel cover over them so they cannot be opened with bolt cutters (thankfully but frustrating). I don't mind drilling all of the locks if thats what I need to do. But some guidance will be helpful as I have never done this.

A PM or email with some guidance would be great.

Also, once I drill them, where do I find new lock cylinder for the vaults.

Thanks again.

You sign off as California Car Wash but your profile lists Ruston La as your location. What is the story behind that?

After a lot of searching I have found that the vaults are Star safes with the removable dial. The dials are nowhere to be found. Can I drill this and order a new dial? They are mounted in the concrete wall with brick surrounding. Should I just go ahead and rent a jackhammer?

The locksmith will be back Tuesday to take care of all the Masterlocks on the vacs, meters etc.

Thanks again.

I just sent you a PM. Don't waste your money on a Locksmith. You can do all of this yourself

The Star safe heads can be drilled and removed, and it's not very difficult (although it's time-consuming and requires a hole drilled in a precise location).
