Hi All, Reviving this old thread.

I just ordered a floyd bell speaker and need to use a programmable relay to convert my 24VAC signal from my IBA to 24VDC output for the speaker. Eight inputs and four outputs will give me the capability of eight messages.

It looks like the Idec FL1F-H12RCA or logo equivalent would give me the capability I need, but I didn't know if there was now a better alternative. Also didn't know if anyone was aware of a package that would give me the necessary software and cable. I will say this should be a relatively simple program, literally eight different selections but I've never attempted programming one of these from a screen.

Thanks for any advice

You might look into downloading the WindLGC Software so you can build and test your program on a pc...Its much easier than building on the plr screen...You don't need to buy anything untill you are ready to upload the program to the PLR...When I purchased my license, it was around $70, I'm sure it cost more than that now. You can also D/L the 300+ page manual as a programming aid! But I found the WindLGC software was really all you need.

The FL1F is the newer series controller updated from the FL1A series. It has double the function blocks, 400 now instead of 200. It also incorporates new Astronomical function blocks to where you can build a lighting program that uses latitude and longitude for on/off timing. Pretty neat... I incorporated one that interacts with my bay and perimeter lighting....It turns off 2/3 of all lights at 10pm and keeps 1/3rd of the lights on for security. If someone uses a bay, once they insert coins, the remaining lights turn on in that bay and stay on 10 minutes after time runs out. I'm sure its paid for itself over and over and saves a lot of $$$ just on my lighting bill!

Greg,

The IDEC SmartRelay and Siemens LOGO! devices are identical…with IDEC being less expensive.

You can order the programming software FL9Y-LP1CDW
https://www.wolfautomation.com/smart-relay-windlgc-application-software

And the 24vac-dc IDEC SmartRelay FL1F-H12RCA
https://www.wolfautomation.com/smart-relay-includes-display-24vac-dc

You could also use the less expensive non-display FL1F-B12RCA for your project.

Idec does offer “Starter Kits” which includes a SR and programming software...
You can download the "Sample" software from this web page:

The programming is done on your Windows desktop/laptop and uploaded to the SmartRelay via an RJ-45 ethernet cable…no special cable required.

Use your existing 24vac transformer to power the SR and it’s inputs.

The outputs are SPST relay contacts so you can use them without the need for interface relays for your DC signal to the speaker.
