SS bay won't shut off

SS Bay #2, won't shut off when time runs out, or when Stop is pressed. It keeps running on hp rinse. I have to turn off breaker to get itnstopped. Shut it down for a day, turn back on, but same problem. Could it be the relay, in the GinSan pumpstand? If so, what makes it do that?

If it's high pressure running constantly, most likely the pump motor contactor has welded itself together. Some contactors have a place that you can push in and make the pump run manually. If yours has this and it looks like it's already pushed in, that is your problem.

Well, you shouldn't need to "shut it down for a day" but..
when you turn the power back on does the motor relay immediately pull in or is the relay stuck in the closed position? if it is pulling in then you have stray 24volt coming from somewhere. could be a nicked wire or a damaged rotary switch.
If the relay is stuck in the closed position then the contacts may be welded together or there may be something preventing the relay from opening. I've had a dead spider caught between the contacts at least 2 times that I can remember.

I turn breaker off, whether I turn it back on, the motor / pump is off. Then, 1st customer. ...motor / pump is stuck back on. The bay had tripped the breaker for a couple days before this issue.

You say it's on high pressure rinse? Is that what shows selected on the door?

Does the pump come on as soon as someone starts the timer, or any function, or not until a high pressure function is selected? If it's not until high pressure is selected, whatever caused the breaker to trip might have damaged the contactor and it sticks closed.

1. Hp rinse shows to be off, & all functions work
2. Pump only comes on to hp function once selected, & can be switched to other functions (while time remains).
3. When was time is done, hp pump stays on for hp rinse (but that is not lit up on selection ).

Nope, pump is off & papers like everything is ok. 1st time to run, hp rinse stays on (even though it appears to be off & out of time).

You'll have to check to see if there's power to the contactor coil. My guess is there's something wrong in the bay door.

On my stands I have a bypass function - switch for each bay. I am thinking you should maybe focus in on that ... that is if you have a bypass.

Swap the contactor with another bay and see if problem follows.

Before you go switching parts around, just remove power to the contactor coil and see if it disengages. If it does, the problem is not the contactor.

That or check for power at the contactor coil. I don't see it being a contactor issue because it will close with power or it can stick closed. Turning the breaker off and back on wouldn't unstick it, the motor would come back on as soon as power is restored.

It's also not going to be a manual wash-down switch or the motor would also come back on as soon as power is restored.
