Switching to count up.

I'm not 100% sure but it looks like on count up I'm losing up to 25 cents per transaction. We are talking a small amount of money but it seems odd that on count down it was to the penny and it was fair to both customer and us. Just another Cryptopay quirk to add to the list.

Just ran a charge my minimum charge is 5.00 I ended the charge at 5.31 and it charged 5.25 the system rounds back to the nearest quarter as it always has.

That's what I'm saying. If you were set up for count down it would have charged the exact amount used.

Just change the Cryptopay settings so you get the next increment sooner so you will already have charged for the next quarter once that time is reached.

I was just looking through the gs-400 manual and saw that it has a count up setting. What's the reason that this wont work?

There is obviously some way to use it with GinSan's ExpressKey system, but Cryptopay's manual says only Dixmor timers will communicate in count-up mode. Maybe GinSan knows of a way to make it work - the manual doesn't show where to connect the ExpressKey.

The way it looks to me on count down mode the card is charged to the exact penny of usage no matter if the timer runs out or if the customer cancels the extra time. On count up it looks like we are losing an average of 12.5 cents per transaction. It is a minor detail but I may bring this up to Cryptopay.

The time for startup. If you're $2.00 for 4 minutes, 30 seconds per $.25, just set it for 3 1/2 minutes and leave the rest alone. Or increase to $2.25 or even $2.50 for 4 minute startup and leave the time per increment alone and offset some of the fees.

Right, but if you stopped it anywhere between 5:00 and 5:30 it would only charge $5.

That is exactly what is was for. When the Expresskey system went away we left the option in. Some credit card systems have their own internal timer to run the bay and that setting can be used to show the time the bay is running if there is 24VAC on the timed hot if the GS400II is not running. We have been working on "count up" feature on the GS400II but figuring out how to work with all the different cc systems has proved to be.......problematic. They all have their own quirks

It will not. The "Count Up" is proprietary code established between Cryptopay and Dixmor and we do not have a work around at this time.

Of course. What many may not realize is that Dixmor was instrumental in the development of the Cryptopay system and everyone else is playing catch-up and they're not just going to release their source code(no smart company would). It also is a pretty large re-write of the code in the GS400II and software is a lot like sausage, you like the end result but you never want to watch it being made. It's an on-going project but not limited to just Cryptopay. We want to make it compatible we as many systems as possible to not limit customers choices. How, when, and if that happens is anyone's guess.

you can change your count up to round up or down at a .05 cent interval from .25 Just contact Cryptopay and let them know you want to do this. You do need to be using a Dixmor LED 7 (I think) You will also have to make a change on your LED7 programming as well. It’s been a few years since I did this, so I forget the setting without being in front of an LED 7. A Cryptopay tech should be able to tell you the setting. In the end depending on how much you process, this could save a decent amount of $. As we all know in the self service business, Quarters, or in this case nickels can really add up. ;-)
