In the wild west days of the late 90s early 2000s, it was nuts the crap being done. I can think of one site in Florida that was so quickly and poorly done that the automatic portion of the building was actually pulling away from the rest of the building in 6 months, the self serve was a cobbled mess, they put in a 2200 gpd RO for a 4 &1, they ran 12 gauge wire to vacuums, used whatever hosing and tubing they had lying around(lots of coupling/splices), etc. We spent a TON on hotels and flights sending some of around to places after the fact.It would surprise me a lot less if it was done by the installer. I hadn't thought about that possibility.
The good news is that the vast majority of those dealers are gone or dying on the vine. I actually see a lot more competence in the field than I did even 10 years ago.
