The semi's and 5'th wheels that use my truck bay are pretty good about not getting grease on the hoses. In 8 years, its only happened a few times. WD40 cleans the hoses up quickly.

I occasionally get customers that clean up after them selves. I even have some of them trained to wash the mud, grass, etc off to the side in the grass area and not in the pit.

Please explain how the cycle/switch would work "Truck Bay Clean Up"? On my meter box, that's the rinse cycle! I use a remote control to start the Led 7.

Don't get me wrong, I do understand others point of view on a truck bay. Mine is manageable. If it wasn't or was creating so much work I couldn't tolerate it, I would tear it out. That's why my comment about location is so important. My truck bay is a Great addition to my wash. Plus I live only a few blocks from the wash, makes it much easier for me to manage it on my own.

On the Ruck Bay Clean Up - just an option on the rotary dial for the user to have that would put on perhaps a more concentrated degreaser for bay clean up. You are using a rotoray dial to start the bay thinking coins / tokens / cash and credit cards for your meter box's? What functions do you offer the truck washers?

Same as the rest of the bays, soap, rinse, wax, PS, TF, FB, and SFR....

I think you'll find customers will try to use a more concentrated degreaser to wash instead of using it for bay floor/wall cleanup. Its a non issue for me. I Rarely get grease on the bay floor. If I do, I just use HP and blow it off into the grass. If they get grease on the Extrutech panels, I use WD40 to get it off. Again, its rare.

Something I incorporated long ago, was put PS on the same gun as TF...PS works so much better than having it on the HP gun. PS gets used 4 times more after I made the change. Something to ponder...

I don't think you'll find any concentrated degreaser that will cut grease from a 5th wheel. I tried the Zep orange degreaser, incredibly strong stuff, and it won't do anything without additional work. It even takes several cleaning passes and paper towels to get the bay hose clean. You'd need 2000 PSI and 240° to spray it off.

JM - Was thinking Catwalk on either side as well as maybe plexiglass high side walls like Mosmatic shows on their website.
I had a catwalk on both sides so they clean both top sides.
I would not have a vac island in front or exit of bay so the rigs can make the turns in and out of the bay.

At one location I have an auto service center, large body shop and a self serv car wash. A very busy location with a large parking. We get a lot of tow trucks 7 days a week.
I purposely did not put a truck wash in this location.
That said the tow trucks still pull their front or rear as far as they can into the wash bay. Most of the time they leave behind grease, mud and a lots of broken car parts in the bays and driveway.
My opinion is unless you have a full time employee there 7 days a week I wouldn’t build it.
In the 70’s we had 2 washes with 1-2 bays that were enlarged, extended height and length and catwalks on both sides truck bays. They were never profitable.
