vac nozzles

Now, does everyone drill holes in their claw?
Naaa..
I do notch the ends of them tho with a hand tool (see attached).
If you don't, the nozzle makes a near perfect seal with the customer's carpet or seat materiel and stresses the motors. When there's no air moving there's no cleaning either.

I tried the whole notch or hole in the claw thing and all It did was make the most annoying whistling sound you've ever heard. Nobody ever complains about the claw getting stuck to the upholstery and I don't seem to wear out motors any faster than normal.

I think if you could make a vacuum nozzle any better than it is right now in it's current form Chris Hamel would've invented it already.
