Who Uses Powder Presoaks?

Who uses powder presoaks and what's your experience? Also how do you mix it up?

it works great, cleans excellent, mixes up nice and stays in solution.

I don't use it, but I have a customer using Red Hot from Scotch Plaid. It's mixed in a basket for the SS and the presoak Hydrominder draws off that, I'm pretty sure with no tip. It cleans really well and foams with air injection without sputtering. I've used Red Hot for bay soap and like it, but I don't have a basket for the tank. It doesn't want to stay suspended properly when mixed in a barrel.

This thread came @ a good time.. Might have to go to powder presoak. My freight is prepaid by Scotch Plaid Chemical for the last 28 years, now got sold to Sonny's.

They don't anticipate changing the prepaid freight, at least not for a while. Sonny's is allowing to conduct their existing business as usual.

So the AP formulators wash master comes in a 40 pound box but you use 20 pounds per 55 gallon barrel. How do you do this? Mix or measure half a box of powder to make one for 55 gallon drum? I'm assuming it's a high pH powder, correct?

Wax, it has 2 bags inside the box. Most guys I know use the whole 40lbs for 55 gsllons. But that does make it really stout. However, 20lbs for 55 gsllons is rather weak.

Once you mix the wash master. Do you draw straight from the barrel or is it further diluted via a hydrominder? Working on a water wizard that is drawing from the mix barrel to a hydrominder and that doesn't seem correct to me
