PLEASE HELP issue w/ PLC & I dont know how to fix it

The problem is you have no idea what you're doing and you have no way of accurately describing what is going on in a way that anyone on this forum will likely be able to help you. My suggestion is to find someone locally and pay them to come in and figure it out for you.

Otherwise, you're like a bird with one wing. You're not going to fly anywhere like that.
I DONT EVEN WANT TO BE HERE! If I had the option trust me I would've already had someone locally here. I've tried going to other carwash's asking if any of them would be able to come help fix shit and get paid but none of them showed. I even found a replacement to take my position so I could go back to the store but after the 1st day of training I called the owner to setup a time for them to meet, but I got shut down and told he's not accepting for anyone else to come in. SO I'M STUCK TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT ON MY OWN! HE"S A POS & CHEAP AS WELL AS NOT HANDS ON AT ALL! SO BY ALL MEANS TELL ME WHAT ELSE I SHOULD DO CAUSE I'M LIMITED ON OTIONS. BUT THANKS FOR TELLING ME SOMETHING I ALREADY KNOW. WAS JUST HOPING SOMEONE MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT. But yes, it's a favor to my boss even though I still get paid hourly no I'm not makin anything really out of his my boss is flipping the bill for his DUMBASS BROTHER WHO DOES THE DUMBEST SHIT. SO between feeling bad for my boss and any customer who uses this carwash thats my motivation. In 10weeks since opening I've self taught everything I've learned so far from turning everything on to all the little things that I've been fixing. Its probably only about 10% of what one would need to know but if I didn't do everything I've been doing shit the customers would've still been getting the exact same carwash for all 3 packages and only 1/3rd of the damn carwash was working in the beginning but I've figured out how to change the HPP pump to hydraulic hoses and the flojet pumps and was able to download and reinstall the ProSuite after the scam artist IT guy fricking turned it into a zipfile. which none of this is my expertise but my ADHD & OCD as well as people being taken advantage of is going to help me stay motivated and figure out whatever I need to. And if I can find others willing to help put me in the right direction great if others can't well then BY ALL MEANS "IF YOU DON"T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF" no one asked you to be rude or a prick. I've been pretty clear I DONT KNOW WTF IM DOING JUST DOING THE BEST WITH WHAT I GOT.

You haven't posted a single picture. You've given us, literally, nothing to work with. Yet you're now blasting us for pointing out the painfully obvious?

You're speaking to a board with many, if not most, of it's members with decades of experience in multiple aspects of this business. Many also have lots of experience in other businesses as well.

Telling you to act like an adult and look your boss dead in the eye and tell them you're out of your depth isn't being mean. It's being honest. You've taken on a project that is beyond your capabilities. That is obvious to all of us.

No trust me I've been blatantly honest with my boss and the owner, but they know that even without experience I'll figure shit out. And I'm not blasting people I'm simply speaking the truth that yes I get I'm doing something that I have no experience with. But those that are here to tell me the exact thing that I've already said isn't being an adult that's just trying to be rude. But as for pictures I can post pictures, that will be the very 1st thing I do tomorrow. No one asked for pictures until right before my last post but I was frustrated with those who were trying to be rude and already at my maxed out level of frustration with the stupid carwash. So I'm sorry if you felt I myself wasn't being a grown adult about the situation but I feel as if I was.

If there was someone who couldn't read or write but went on a forum asking for help and even told everyone to begin with they couldn't read or write. Those others in that forum are not going to sit there telling that person "oh, you shouldn't even be doing this you don't know what you are doing. " No matter what it is you just don't do that it's rude. So excuse me for trying. If someone wants to help, just say something let me know exactly what type of pictures ECT.. or if I don't know I'll say that but no matter what I won't do is be disrespected or be disrespectful.

It's not rude if it's the truth. There have been a multitude of times in the past 25 years where I have had to tell an operator that they really need to hire a professional because they were obviously out of their depth and there was literally no effective way for me to talk them through the issue over the phone or via email. To waste a bunch of their time would be far more rude and horribly unprofessional when I know it's beyond their skill set and they're eventually going to have to hire someone anyways.

What's rude is coming on a forum full of seasoned professionals, give vague(at best) descriptions of the issue, and then get pissed because you don't like the answers.

Here's another harsh truth: Your boss is taking gross advantage of you. It's a f-ed up thing to do on their part and you shouldn't stand for it.

Yes, I know it's f-ed up on their end, I know it. I stick it out cause I actually do love working the stores. And trust me I KNOW I NEED A PROFESSIONAL, it's not due to my choice. Again I'm working with what I have and I've repeatedly been very clear about it. I just don't have unlimited time to just sit on a computer researching everything. No lies by the time I've figured 1 thing out and how to fix it or even get something working better another frickin thing starts screwing up. I'm frickin chasing my tail and I don't have the knowledge or financial backing so it is what it is. So yeah I turn to forums and groups to help point me in the right direction. Cause the 1st 6weeks I was spending 13-16hrs aday fixing and researching and I realized that was really running me into the ground. But in the end it's the customer I care about cause if it was me I would want someone to care that I'm not getting what I paid for. And I'm not being rude, I'm sorry I don't know technical terms and what things are or aren't. I'm trying to get some information how is that being rude? I was saying what I knew, sorry if that's vague. But I'm not making you post or reply to anything if you don't feel like you could help then by all means "don't comment or reply". So I'm sorry but no I'm not the person who's being rude in this situation or not acting like a decent ADULT. But hey wish you all the best and hopefully you never have to go threw something similar.

I think you're in a 'no win' situation, my friend. While it's admirable you're trying to help customers, you're putting a lot of unnecessary stress on yourself. Sometimes being the adult means knowing your limits and when to walk away.

You're not doing your customers any favors by enabling the owner. He's the one that needs to step up and fix his damn equipment!

We have tried to post helpful tips, but I think you're unfairly transferring your anger and frustration to the wrong people. We can't fix your situation or your equipment. Peace out! ✌

The program that Automation Direct is looking for is loaded on the Master PLC. There are hundreds of different PLC's and they all use different ports, cables, and devices for communication with a computer program. They also all use different programs. We need to know which PLC is installed to be able to help you with getting a copy of the program. Fair warning your IT person may have locked the program. In this case you will need their credentials to download the program.

Since you believe the problem to be with the communication between the Paystation and the PLC you can check the wiring between the two. I don't know which Paystation you are using, but most have a series of output relays that send signals to inputs on the PLC. The output relays on the Paystation each correspond to a wash package or buy up. If you could tell us which Paystation you are using we can better direct you. If you don't know what kind of Paystation you are working with then take a picture with your phone and post it here. Someone will be familiar with it and able to help you.
