    Are FLOJET pumps terrible?

I have never had an air operated Flowjet pump before I put in a cta about 4 months ago. The first one lasted 2 months and the second lasted 1 month. Is it possible that I'm doing something to cause this? I can't imagine what it could be since I have not really done anything. They just hook up...

    Bug juice

Do most of you just use presoak for bugs or do you use a special bug product? I have a manifold on the floor for bug spray with a 10 sec dwell that is step 1 of my top wash. I just got in some KR presoak that I'm planning to use there. Does that make sense? I have a Softgloss machine. Thanks

    Ryko gearbox

Which gearbox? I have a front arm gearbox still in the box at the wash (I'm not there now) that I can maybe get info from. Can't remember if I ordered from Ryko or Astromatic but I think Ryko.

    cta

Oh I think I see what you are saying. There is too much variation in vehicle size to try to place them to hit wheels on a stationary vehicle and I don't want to sacrifice the time to dedicate a full pass. That would seriously cut down on the dwell time as well. Thanks.

    cta

    Ummm. What?

    cta

I'm leaning more toward a "kiss" (keep it simple...) method. I think that they may eventually figure out that it stays on for x number of seconds and if they don't get their wheels covered it's on them not me. Coming on progressively as a good idea. Now some of them go back and forth and every...

    cta

I have been trying to use 2 tape switches to turn the cta on and off. It seems to be kind of hit and miss whether it actually hits the wheels or not. I think I'll switch it to a timer and just spray the whole side. How long is long enough to leave it on? 10 seconds? Less?

    Kleen-seal with teflon

I'm trying a sample right now. Yesterday was the first time it has rained since I had it on my car. It seemed to shed water pretty well much like element shield. I think it may be a little less concentrated though. Too soon to judge really. I will post after I have had a little more experience.

    pump rebuild

It's funny. Now that I know it's there I can see the problem with that middle plunger plain as day on the picture.

    pump rebuild

No it's the bottom one that is leaking. The top is only has 600 lbs of pressure. I'm going to go see Pat, I'm just trying to determine what parts I need to have before I go.

    pump rebuild

I have a new iphone that does all kinds of cute things. I can email a picture because if I tap on the picture it asks me if I want to email it but most of the other features I am clueless. It also has the capacity for me to point it at something and a person with an iphone or ipad can see it. I...

    pump rebuild

Oh I'm going to take him up on it. I thought I was going to be able to choose a convenient time. Now that I worked on it myself my bay is shut down. This is a famiiar occurance for me unfortunately. When it comes to laddering bonds or senior secured debt I'm a whiz, when it comes to working on...

    pump rebuild

I put on the "repaired" pump last night. Water pours from where the aluminum part bolts to the blue pump. This is exactly what happened when I did it myself. The pressure is good, just a serious leak. There is no gasket there. Should there be? If I used some "form a gasket" would it help? Would...

    pump rebuild

Pat, I took my spare into a place in Lexington today and they said they can have it to me tomorrow. I can put that one on and then hopefully have a little time before I need another spare. We just picked up a bank in Lawrenceburg so I will be heading that way occaisionally. That's getting pretty...

    pump rebuild

As most of you know I have very limited skills inolving anything mechanical and no skills at all involving anything electrical. I have a 5cp pump that needs to be rebuilt. I bought the seals once and tried to do it myself and only succeeded in ruining an $80 seal kit. I know a lot of you guys...

    Kleen-seal with teflon

No I haven't. I'm kind of in a catch 22. KR chemical becomes cost competitive without shipping charges but you only get shipping paid if you order 36 pails. Odds are I won't try it unless they get a trial size or pay the freight. I'm unimpressed with a few of my chemicals but I doubt I'll pay...

Your average number of washes per day/month

Well if you read that it must be true. Sometimes I do the math on those types of claims just for fun.

    machine crediting too much

This may help somebody someday who is in a panic like I was yesterday. My Goldline was crediting and extra dollar for every bill inserted AND MAKING CHANGE. So if you put in 9 ones it would give you the $9 wash and $9 back. I felt like the federal government for a little while. Anyway when I...

    Ryko Top Brush

Do you have an extra mac valve? I have had this problem before but am not sure what it was but something tells me it was the mac valve.
