    Weep - help a newbie

Here's a simple explanation of the a basic weep function: Incoming water feeds a normally open solenoid. That solenoid is controlled by the Weepmizer. When it's warmer the Weepmizer energizes the solenoid to shut it off. When the solenoid is open it is feeds water to each bay through a check...

If you have power coming out of the appropriate output on the rotary but not at the solenoid, you have a wiring issue between the two points.

Customers trying to hack coin mechanisms

I wonder how many more coin accepting machines these rocket scientists tried it on before they gave up.

Customers trying to hack coin mechanisms

Meh, it's really not possible with modern electronic coin mechs. The problem is nothing dies on the internet. There is a lot of info about how to trick various machines that hasn't been applicable for decades.

    Hot water heater 100% required?

Don't ignore the floor heat if you ever have freezing temps. One slip and fall will be far more expensive than fixing it. The need for heated water for chemicals and high pressure rinse is always a debated topic but customer perception matters also. When it's cold out and a customer is washing...

    Are self serves going extinct?

That sounds like something a supplier currently making a fortune building tunnels all over the place would say. A lot of those are going to be for sale in the next 3-5 years also.

    Gin San Coin Box Issue

Could be. The 30330 is a stainless piezo button we haven't had for 20+ years.

    dixmor led6 and ginsan sensortron

When something is that old I never even ask the "Why?", I just replace it and move on. 30 year old electronics and wiring become very brittle and fail when you try to mess with them.

    Gin San Coin Box Issue

You most likely have one or more bad buttons. That wiring is atrocious. Ditch the wire nuts and clean it up. You're just asking for more issues.

    dixmor led6 and ginsan sensortron

You need a new coin acceptor. That unit is around 30 years old. It's been that long since we used that wiring color code. The black is hot, the yellow is common, and the blue is the coin output. It's most likely dead.

    Southern freeze coming

To be honest, the secret is the salt we get. You have to wash your car or it rots, so the washes get used enough in the cold to help keep the joint from freezing up.

Considering Card Only Self Serve Car Wash

I wasn't getting that from your other posts. All the ones I can think of put in a credit card to token solution in lieu of credit cards on everything. Even so, I don't see the utility of have a credit card to token solution if you're already taking credits cards in the bays outside of a bit of...

What is going on with Ginsan?

If you're calling me Doug, the lead time is indefinite. Usually, a couple of weeks depending on what you are looking for, what our current volume is, and parts availability. Sometimes things like rotary switches, credit card readers, bill acceptors, etc are back-ordered. If it's a custom...

    Southern freeze coming

Not to derail, but one of the benefits of my job is getting to work with customers from all over the place. I've gotten a ton of calls from operators in the south over the last 10 days or so for suggestions. Meanwhile, I drove by a customers 5-bay on the way home last night. 10 degrees. Snowing...

I can't think of a single person who put in a credit card to token solution and was happy with their choice.

What is going on with Ginsan?

Did Doug give you a quote or order number? He's a salesman and as such is usually pretty willing to take your money. Give me a call 1-800-446-7267 ext 608. I'm usually here until 5 eastern. My email is dkamsickas@ginsan.com. I sometimes will check them after hours. It's a great excuse to lock...

    3 Bay Wash

As I also said in the last PM: Get as much information on the equipment as possible and attempt to contact the manufacturers. Several manufacturers have closed their doors over the last couple of decades and the ones that remain have a lot of old equipment in the field that is no longer...

    3 Bay Wash

Got your PM but I'll post my response here also. What you sent me was nothing more than an Excel spreadsheet. You need verifiable numbers. 3 years tax returns, at the minimum. He can claim whatever he wants on that spreadsheet. If those numbers are legit and he's spending only $1k a year for...
