    Boiler/Floor Heat

As for testing lines, I originally tested mine using water and pressurizing to 10 psi.

    Boiler/Floor Heat

I'm guessing close to 40 years old on the tubing since the manufacture date of the old boiler was early 1980's. As for code, you might find anything under 200kbtu falls under certain guidelines not requiring a certified boiler technician to do the install or maintain it. That's why a lot of...

    Boiler/Floor Heat

I have the same black plastic hose for floor heat. I don't think they made pex when this was installed. FWIW, I upgraded the old 350k Jarco with a 199k demand heater and couldn't be any happier. To answer your question on pressure check. I run my system at 10 psi filled. I would fill it with...

    MEGA lll Refrigerated Outdoor Vendor

I'm thinking about retiring my old drop shelf vendors that max out at $1.00....Wanting to expand what I'm offering to include candy bars, chips, as well as a lot more CW related items. So the Refrigerated MEGA lll vendor has my attention. I wouldn't need it to vend soda's, I have that covered...

    Another bad coin acceptor?!

Just had a newer, less than a year old, sensortron start giving multiple 3-4 credits per coin. Luckily I was there and heard the horn giving rapid fire credits. Changing out the acceptor fixed the issue...Generally the Sensortrons or pretty reliable, some I've had in service for about 20 years...

    High pressure soap problems, HELP!

Another issue with the old Mark VII pump stands was the fact they used gate vales for both hot and cold supplies to the pump. Over time, 20-30 years the steel stems will corrode/rot and break so the valve would no longer work to set correct back pressure for soap draw. Ask me how I know?!?!? So...

    High pressure soap problems, HELP!

The PVC pipes behind my stand was 3". I eliminated them and ran individual 1/2" hose to each pump from the float tanks. I made new float tanks with individual ball valves attached in order to isolate each pump for maintenance. I'll post a photo of my float tanks tomorrow. So the setup in last...

    High pressure soap problems, HELP!

CantBreak80 is absolutely correct! He was the one who helped me when I was having the same issues with my original Mark VII system. I ripped out all the old plumbing and reinstalled new over 6 years ago. Instead of the 3/4" hose and fittings from the gravity tank, I used all 1/2" hose and 1/2"...

Anyone taking advantage of the coin shortage to raise prices?

A number of the big box stores in Southern Ohio including Kroger announced this week that they would no longer be giving change on purchases...It wasn't announced as "Temporary", it was announced as "No Longer"! I don't believe for a second there is a coin shortage. If there was, it would have...

WAGO 221 or 222 lever nuts?

Ever since discovering WAGO's, its the only way I tie multiple wires together. Worked great for my interactive LED lighting circuits. Makes for a very clean install.

Hot water float valve doesn't fully shut off. The previous one didn't either?

I've never had a Walters fail completely open or at a level that the 3/4" overflow wouldn't handle. Usually it just seeps and doesn't shut off completely when it starts failing. +1 on the fill pipe and tee. Eliminates waves in the tank like Mep mentions.

Hot water float valve doesn't fully shut off. The previous one didn't either?

With any float tank and valve, its a good idea to have an overflow piped to the drain! Got burned more than once before the light came on!

Hot water float valve doesn't fully shut off. The previous one didn't either?

+1 for the Walters 1" 2 stage! There were Clevelands installed when I bought the wash. Water Hammer was terrible. Plus the Cleveland would start a "Wave" in the tank making it even worse. The Walters eliminated both issues and last 3-4 years before I start to see issues.

Hot water float valve doesn't fully shut off. The previous one didn't either?

Is your weep turned on? If it is, you could have a bad CV allowing water to backflow into the tank.

    flojet vs procon pumps

If you're using 1/4" tubing to the bays, that will be your bottleneck, try using 3/8". You'll get the same flow at 8 times less pressure. Same as being able to get 8 times more flow at the same pressure. A flojet has more than enough volume, but the tubing has to be sized correctly out from the...

    Cat 340 line vibration

The groove in the head is called "Wash Out" and needs to be either replaced with a new head or sent off to get repaired. A new seal will not seat correctly and fix wash out. There used to be a sticky thread on washed out heads, but can't find it now.

Husky vs Harbor Freight small compressor comparison

FWIW...I have an old 80 gallon Campbell Hausfeld 6HP with a Cast iron pump. It must be at least 20 years old or more. I think the key to long life is have a lot of capacity and lower the pressure to kick on at 80 psi and only run up to about 100-110 psi...The higher you go on pressure, the...
