Self serve pump stands, or what were these idiots thinking

And then there's Mark VII.....Nuff said!

    Manual blowout system

Looks Great! Glad my design helped you come up with a workable solution!

    Weep issue - Solenoid?

You've got a point. Max operating pressure is 150 using water. We literally have 100's of Asco valves in service where I work (Manufacturing) and I've never heard of any issues with them. They run 24-7...365 days a year.... So curiosity got the best of me. Took my spare apart and it has a brass...

    Weep issue - Solenoid?

My point being, maybe the wrong valve was being used for a specific application causing it to fail prematurely. Too high of flow rate for this valve. How is it the valves fault?

    Weep issue - Solenoid?

So maybe the culprit? 10gpm! Through a 1/2" valve?? I weep 64oz minute for 4 HP Hoses, so very low flow. I feed the valve with a 3/4" poly braid hose to slow water flow even further to minimize or eliminate water hammer when the valve shuts off...So could this be why some are seeing exceptional...

    Weep issue - Solenoid?

What kind of flow rate are we looking at on a Vector unit?

    Weep issue - Solenoid?

Glad Randy and I got the two good ones they made!

    Manual blowout system

This is what I designed to replace the original antiquated Mark VII weep system. It also incorporates air blowdown and washer fluid injection for semi automatic/manual operation....The two poly tubes at the bottom are for air and washer fluid. Weep water comes in from the top... I also have a LP...

    Weep issue - Solenoid?

Glad I bought my Asco (and Spare) before the quality went to crap! To be honest, the PO had a Dema piston actuated solenoid installed instead of a diaphragm solenoid....I can see how a Piston Actuated solenoid can be a PITA! Its interesting how different locations can have issues with one or the...

    Weep issue - Solenoid?

Interesting...I had a Dema in the beginning and froze up more than I care to remember. Switched it out with an asco at Randy's suggestion and its been fine now for about 10 years! Could water quality play a factor? I weep city water that doesn't go through my softener...Its only about 4-5 grains...

    Ray Pak thermostat obsolete

OK.... I see now, the one you linked to is in Fahrenheit! I bought a mechanical well type t-stat that controls my floor heat from the return coolant temp...Has a mechanical spring actuated temp differential. Would be nice to replace it with something digital so you can actually "See" what is...

Looking at buying a Car Wash

$4700/month is definitely within range of what a 4 bay SS can make. Busiest intersection in town with no other carwash within 3-5 mile radius AND a 400 unit subdivision going in across the street adds significant value...IMHO.... Although, agreeing with Mep, the owner still cuts grass but was...

    Ray Pak thermostat obsolete

CB80, thanks for posting...Might not hurt to have a few of these on the shelf! Do you know if you can switch the display to Fahrenheit? The description only shows Celsius. Also I've found this T-stat as low as $11.01 if you buy (2)!! If nothing else, cheap insurance to never have a failure to...

    Fighting the Freeze During Winter

Wow! I couldn't imagine that purple dye all over a white car! We also use calcium Chloride to load tractor tires. But have never heard of beet juice!

    Fighting the Freeze During Winter

Maybe referring to Liquid Calcium Chloride? That's what they use here now. Some nasty stuff. But profitable for a CW!

    Fighting the Freeze During Winter

Since you have a recirculation system and well, why would you want to cycle your weep on and off? A weepmiser is designed to save water running down the drain like most of our systems do. How big is the pump? Voltage/Amps....Electricity to run a pump is cheap...If I had a recirculation system...

    Fighting the Freeze During Winter

Was you directing that comment to Nuphoenix or me? Surely you know by now I understand relay logic and how to apply it. ;) I was asking Nuphoenix Why he would want a weepmizer with a reversed current output 1....I can't think of anything you'd want to run off output 1 other than a weep solenoid...

    Fighting the Freeze During Winter

Why do you want a NC weepmizer? Typically output 1 is energized when no weep is called for AND using a NO solenoid. The solenoid is powered closed when no weep is called for. That way if power goes out, the NO solenoid will keep things from freezing. To answer your other question, along with...
