    RO Filter Change

That is your prefilter - it is just a sediment filter. MEP's recommendation of once a quarter is a good starting point. Some people will get more, and some less life out of the filter - depending upon how much UN-dissolved contaminants you have in your water. Most membrane manufacturers...

    Chlorine filter regeneration

Typical life span on the GAC in a backwashing carbon tank is 5 years. After that you'll want to re-bed it (put new carbon in it). Russ

    Charcoal RO Pre-Filter Transition

Fleck valves work fine when they are new, but they are a pain in the neck when it comes to maintenance. We much prefer Clack valves. Russ

    Need HELP with RO

Remember that your permeate output is affected (reduced) by water temperatures below 77F. With your 4" membrane you should adjust your concentrate to a minimum of 3 gpm. When you do that you'll see a drop in the pump pressure and an decrease in the permeate flow. The best solution is to use...

    Spot Free TDS Increase

The membrane manufacturers spec a 5 micron (or below) prefilter. Also - we have the sediment filters you need always in stock. Russ

    Spot Free TDS Increase

We never wire 110 or 220 to a float switch - only low voltage as a safety precaution.

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

Osmonics is the manufacturer of your new membrane. They would have no idea what RO system you are installing their membrane in.

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

Here are three 4040 membranes, each rated at 2500 gpd that run at lower pressures: 150 psi: https://www.buckeyehydro.com/axeon-hf1-4040-ro-membrane-2-500-gpd/ 100 psi: https://www.buckeyehydro.com/axeon-hf4-4040-ro-membrane-2500-gpd/ 80 psi...

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

3 gpm is typically the minimum concentrate flow on a 4" membrane. Shortened membrane life will likely be the result if you routinely have less than that. You have to do some adjustments on the concentrate valve and the adjustment screw/valve on your pump. If you have the system set correctly...

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

I don't think your relief valve is a recycle valve. If you had a recycle function you'd have a third flow gauge.

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

In schematic form, this is the needle valve you use to control the flow of concentrate. This valve is also referred to as an "adjustable flow restrictor." Your RO system doesn't look like it is configured with Concentrate recycle plumbing, so just ignore that part of the schematic: To...

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

What you're talking about is called a BRINE SEAL. Probably up at the other end of the membrane than shown in the pic

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

If you have proper pretreatment, especially a water softener, there is limited utility to open that valve all the way to flush the membrane - unless you do it frequently and routinely.

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

That is really a concentrate flow valve. With a 4" diameter membrane go no lower than 3 gpm on the concentrate.

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

Is it normal? No. Why might it happen? *If you have a brand new carbon tank or a newly re-bedded carbon tank and it was not rinsed up properly - you could load a downstream filter for sure. *If the sediment filter was left in too long it could become clogged with whatever sediment is present...

    Water softener before carbon filter?

1/4" hose out of the top of the softener? That is probably the brine line that should be connected to your brine tank. Your softener whould have 3/4" or larger in and out ports. Feel free to email some pictures if you'd like. Russ Buckeye Hydro info@buckeyehydro.com 513-312-2343

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

Hopefully your carbon tank is a backwashing unit? If it is, than although a sediment filter before the carbon tank doesn't do any harm, it is probably not necessary. Having a sediment filter (5 micron or smaller) after the carbon and before the membrane(s) is necessary. Russ
