Windshield washer fluid or RV anti freeze?

Yea, I remember you saying that! The only thing, I'd think she'd have a difficult time putting the cones up and covering the pitts! I wonder if Seri cleans up bays?!?!?

How to inject antifreeze into lines?

Do you have push connect fittings on your weep system? Do you have individual ball valves to shut off weep to each bay? I can think of several ways to inject WF other than the way I do it! ....I think the 2nd easiest way would be to use a flojet like Randy suggested. The 3rd easiest would be to...

How to inject antifreeze into lines?

That's what I do...With my setup, I have a ball valve for each bay that I can turn the weep off...Leave the ball valves on for the ones I want to keep open. But remember, if you have SFR and a single pump for all bays, you'll need separate ball valves for the SFR that you can shut off. When the...

How to inject antifreeze into lines?

I don't remove my wands after filling the lines with WF. As long as your wands don't syphon, you'd be ok leaving them on. Just turn power off to the bays, put up cones and call it a day. For extended cold spells, I also cover my pits to keep them from freezing. It doesn't take long with below...

Truck Car Wash Bay with Unlimited height

Same as the rest of the bays, soap, rinse, wax, PS, TF, FB, and SFR.... I think you'll find customers will try to use a more concentrated degreaser to wash instead of using it for bay floor/wall cleanup. Its a non issue for me. I Rarely get grease on the bay floor. If I do, I just use HP and...

Truck Car Wash Bay with Unlimited height

The semi's and 5'th wheels that use my truck bay are pretty good about not getting grease on the hoses. In 8 years, its only happened a few times. WD40 cleans the hoses up quickly. I occasionally get customers that clean up after them selves. I even have some of them trained to wash the mud...

Truck Car Wash Bay with Unlimited height

Since my truck bay was installed back in the 80's, yes the arch is home-made! And yes, a semi can get under the arch since it's 14.5' high. I get a few semi's who are local. They love it. They say they can wash for about $10 v's $100 at the semi washes they use on the Freeways. Most just leave...

Windshield washer fluid or RV anti freeze?

If you are going to close down, why run the weep? I pay about $20 a thousand for water and sewage, so below 15°, it racks up. When I close down a few bays, I blow out the HP lines and inject washer fluid till the lines are full, turn power off to the bays, then leave them till I open up. As for...

Can't believe CantBreak80 hasn't chimed in? I see he is still lurking around here, even though he is retired now!

Truck Car Wash Bay with Unlimited height

And then you have to think about the dark-side! WHAT IF someone falls down the steps. Can you be held liable? I like the idea though. But I don't have the room. If starting from scratch, I'd look at it from all angles....

    Floor heat issue

When I rehabbed my Floor Heat about 4-5 years ago, I used "NoBurst" Propylene glycol and mixed it at about 33% with distilled water. That gives the system about a -50° burst temperature, meaning it won't freeze solid until -50° but can turn to slush below zero...I think that mixture turns to...

    Last 6 months business

The weather in January has been crap so far in the Ohio Valley, no better than all of 2018...If it isn't snowing, its freezing cold. If it warms up, its raining and people are getting free washes! Kinda hard to shine in the CW business when Mother Nature is riding her broom!

Truck Car Wash Bay with Unlimited height

The truck bay was added back in the 80's when the CW was rehabbed with new pump equipment. So I wouldn't have a clue as to the cost. The arch is made out of 4" x 8" I-Beam...Very substantial. That would be easy to calculate. The truck bay pump and chemical selection is exactly the same as the...

Benefits of living in a small town. Yes, the outside bay is grandfathered in. The OP might check local restrictions before breaking ground.

Weep check valve...no, not that one.

That particular unloader was removed from service after about 7 years. There was no evidence of erosion. Usually they just start spiking pressure. The spring assembly just needs taken apart and cleaned. I don't see the problems you speak of.

Truck Car Wash Bay with Unlimited height

OK...I'm the opposite! I have a truck bay that a semi can pull through. 14.5' of clearance under the boom... I get semi's, boats, campers, trucks and trailers. All of which can't use the inside bays. I also encourage atv's, mowers, and muddy trucks to use the outside bay so its easier to clean...

Makes sense...But when the unloader is used with a weep gun, the c/v can then be used as a check to keep weep from back-flowing into the gravity tanks....That's how mine work any way!

Interesting discussion! Just wondering why some operators have very good luck with the Rego and some not so good? Some old threads listed below raving about how good they are...None as to how bad they are until now...

I'm having a hard time figuring out what can come apart in this CV and lodge itself down-stream. Even if the o'ring broke, I don't think there is not enough clearance for the o'ring to make it past the center section of the stem. Flow pushes towards the spring....Thoughts? I still think its a...
