    KR- Excessive Shipping Charges

Total weight for this order was about 25#....According to UPS website for ground rates, should have been about $33 for shipping based on weight. I'm with you on "Free" Shipping offers. But last time I did that I had to have (I think) a $1250 order. Since I don't get soap from them, thats hard...

car wash floor freezing up bad

If you have different zones, can you get temp readings with an infrared heat gun and report back outgoing and return temps from each zone? I'm heating about 1900sq ft of floor with a 199btu Condensing/Modulating Demand Heater. At 105° set point temp of the heater, it doesn't get out of low gear...

    KR- Excessive Shipping Charges

I recently placed an order at KR for (4) Nogshair Brushes, a 200ct box of Wet Wipes, 3 small hydrominder brackets, misc hydrominder parts, and some decals. Original order was aprroximately a $400. After the order was shipped, I discovered (2) of the small hydrominder brackets were...

What do you use to determine time spent on each function?

I am Partial to IDEC PLR/PLC's since they are the first ones I worked with. Same as Siemens, just 6 months behind in consumer technology and a little cheaper. Do a search for the IDEC FL1F and D/L the 326 page manual, down about 100 pages from the previous FL1E manual! There are function blocks...

Sales Tax coming to our state

We just got hit with a 30% Property Tax increase...Including my Home! When there are enough people voting for these tax increases that have no skin in the game, its going to be a downward spiral like what Randy keeps talking about. They will pry $$$ out of our pockets by any means possible...

What do you use to determine time spent on each function?

Even though I'm not currently doing this, I'll share my thoughts. I would think the easiest way would be to use a PLC/PLC's with enough inputs to monitor and record "On Time". Some of the newer PLC's have networking capabilities making it easier to monitor whether on a PC or cell phone.

    Tankless Water heater.

I run 100° water. Since my trough is heated to 110°, I doubt I loose much from the trough to the gun.

I've heard some plumb in a cold low water supply to the float tank when using a demand heater if there's ever an issue. There are options...

My Takagi displays Input temp, output temp, and GPM.... Is 5 gpm enough to run your HP pumps? I would need 3 Naviens to run my 4 bay at 5 gpm output each….

    Tankless Water heater.

The screen filter on my Takagi goes in the cold inlet at an angle just at the base of the heater. Kind of like a "Y" Strainer. There is a cap that unscrews and the filter comes out with it. When I installed the Takagi for my floor heat, it plugged up right away. So I installed a 5 micron...

    Tankless Water heater.

Glad you guys are finally figuring out what I've been preaching for years! If you are running close on hot water supply on busy days, lower the setpoint by 10° and you might gain enough capacity to get you through the day. For my floor heat, the Takagi 199K Btu I have is rated for 10gpm...That's...

What temp do you run your floor heat boiler?

Paul, My guess is we both have our systems about as efficient as we can get them, even with different differential set in the return T-Stats...Mine is 15 minutes on - 15 minutes off. I bet yours is 5 minutes on - 5 minutes off. Basically the same in an hours time. About the only suggestion I...

    retrofit road sign with LED's

Here's a few pics to clarify. The C-Clips I found are Spring Stainless Steel. Just bolt or screw them to the frame of the sign to hold the tubes. I'm not going to use the normal rotating tombstones like in a standard tube light fixture. I'll be using female terminals pushed onto the pins. They...
