This guy actually called me and the plumbing supply that owns the truck is taking responsibility and covering damage costs on this one.

The smallest broken part can cripple your system

I had a complete arm rotate assemble replaced 3 weeks ago on one of my Automatics. Today a guy in a pickup was able to completely destroy the gearbox and so I get to do this all over again. Glad you got yours running again. I had a friction machine like yours once with the mac valve problem and...

    Totaled IBA

While we were unloading the new automatic I got a call from one of my other locations that a driver had tried to take a too tall vehicle through one of the SS bays. Twice in 2 months I have this happen now. Looks like a structural engineer and fix of this bay also.

    ICA water study

The latest ICA water study found that the average IBA uses 45 gallon of fresh water per wash and that 21% of that water is carried out or evaporated and does not go down the drain. Seems like this question comes up all the time so just wanted to post this up. Study was done in 2017.

    posting pictures,

When I post a picture I usually have to down size it due to the size restrictions on this forum. I use microsoft paint and usually down sizing it to about 15% of its original size will let you post direct to the forum by going to advanced and manage attachments.

The smallest broken part can cripple your system

One of my automatic finally had the 25 HP motor give out. Luckily I had a couple of motors and pumps laying around from old automatics. It took my son and I all day to change the 500 pound setup out. The replacement pump and motor are working like a champ. If you could get the manifold block...

What light fixtures are you using in your IBA's?

I am redoing a IBA and think I am going to go with 2 LSI overhead square box LED lights from TSS. over 19000 lumens each and rated for over 100,000 hours. $395 each.

    Building a drive through dryer

I added some SOnny's Mammoth dryers to my drive through automatics. They call for 15 HP dryers. You can buy the down tubes for around $1000 each as I recall. Protovest also make a conversion for a side dryer and they spec 15 HP dryers. They might work fine with 10 HP but both companies...

    Salt - salt - salt

I get mine from a local over the road trucking firm. I get a pallet load at a time and I pick it up at their site. We trade washes for salt so my price is probably under a dollar per 40 pd. bag.

It takes the distributor about 3 days to get everything in place. Then the electricians are about a week normally and then the distributor comes back to fire it up. I am hoping to be up and running again by about September 25 if all goes well.

    Totaled IBA

Just shy of one month after the initial damage I got final approval for the replacement car wash and the total final cost. If I had sent them the freight cost estimate and the electricians bid earlier it would have been a week earlier. My order was bumped ahead at the factory since my...

    Bill Acceptors Worth It?

I estimate that about 40% of ,my SS is with credit cards and 40% with quarters still and only about 20% is with bills. I even give a 10% bonus with a $5 bill and 20% with a $10.

New concrete slab thickness / mixture?

I agree with foam around the foundation edges. When they use foam around here it always has the foil backing. 4 inch pour is standard and 6 inch for heavy trucks etc. I always added fiber mesh and used 4500 lb. Concrete mix vs. Standard 3500 lb. Wire mesh will do little to prevent cracking...

    gantry vs inverted L

IMO it is the chemicals that really cleans a car in touchless wash. I know the maintenance is much lower on a inverted L machine. I also like the more open feel.
