Heads up etowah valley cc users

I had the local phone company, Century Link, change the long distance carrier they had issued at the problem site to use Qwest as the long distance provider yesterday. It is the first time in about 10 days that the timers did not get locked up. I hope they batch out tonight and continue to work...

Heads up etowah valley cc users

I just tried to access the blue pay website and it is down. I started having problems about 4 days ago with every reader staying in the dial in mode after a card swipe. Had to cycle power on and off to reset on each one.

    trash dumpers

WHy is it that when a vehicles pulls up to our dumpsters to empty a whole load of garbage the first thing out of their mouths as you approach is " I was going to wash as soon as I dumped this trash." ? When you look at the vehicle you wonder which decade it was last washed in.

Copper plumbing and equipment room layout.

I was talking to my plumber last week about copper vs. pex. All my washes are in copper so far by the way. He said that the cost of using copper has gone up by another 30% recently because the government has mandated that all the pipe, fittings. solder etc. must now be 100% lead free. The...

    ICA Water Savers

I think the ICA water savers program is general is good idea. I am not sure that I support Wand wash nozzles below 3 gpm but that is just me. What kind of bugs me about the water savers program is a double standard as I see it. It is only concerned with the water used per wash not really the...

    Door Cleaner

Pick up some muratic acid from your local paint store and dilute it in a bucket 3 part water to 1 part acid. You can spray it on with a acid sprayer like a weed sprayer or brush it on with a nylon bristle brush. Let it sit for a minute or two then brush in again and rinse with water. I have been...

Bring Back Bristle Brushes - Just a Thought

I had a bristle brush ryko back in the 90s. It did a great job of cleaning. Problem was that too many people had been told over time that they scratched even though they did not. I think Mercedes and BMW still use it at their factories and it is still popular in European countries.

    Need help drilling through coinbox

Harbor Freight is usually not the best quality tools. I go to industrial supply houses and get the best cobalt bits they have. Also pick up some cutting fluid. This keeps the bits cool and helps them cut through much easier. Go slow.

    HP hose (protector)

I have a background in tires so I always look to that industry for reference. What I started doing years ago for a hose and rub protector is to use old tube type tire truck flaps that were used to protect the tube from the metal steel rim. They are kind of hard to find now but they provide a...

    Message/Call Centers/Apps??

Wow RR how long do hold a grudge and why would you even bring it up here? To Lisa's question: I have a regular land based line for the washes. I have the number forwarded to my cell phone number so that I can switch phone calls over to my attendant when I am out of town. As for after hour calls...

    Scarify Bay Floors Too?

A good painted floor is much easier to clean. With a detail shop you end up with silicones on the floor as well as dirt etc. I have been using a 2 part epoxy that stays on the floor but does wear out after a couple of years.

    Scarify Bay Floors Too?

I think your scarafier will smooth the wash bay floors and lead to no traction when wet. When I did my detail shop floors the machine I used was a heavy swirling machine that used carbide teeth to smooth the floor and get rid of the top layer of any grease etc. It left the floor smooth and the...

Hydrominder suction..? (how high can they lift?)

The viscosity of the liquid also has alot to do with the mixing ratio and lift. The thicker the concentrate the less you will actually draw with a hydrominder. Test the final product for titration, visual etc. then adjust the tips up or down until you are happy with the final product.
