Waxman, you can buy stainless steel marine bearings that will last much longer than standard pillow block bearings. More money up front but worth it.

Anybody Use a Infrared tube heater in your Automatic bay?

You can buy all stainless steel units that will last in a car wash bay for a long time. I have some going on 20 years. Farmtec sells units for green houses at some very good prices. 1 75,000 btu unit per Auto bay is good.

Automatic with no floor heat in Kansas City?

I run several IBA and only use radiant heat in a much colder area than you are in. You should be fine with just the radiant heater.

    Stand alone dryer issues

I would have a good electrician check your contactors. Many times they get a little burned on the ends and do not make good contact. I would also check the coil that pulls the contactors in.

    High Velocity reusing reject water

I would guess that at least 75% + of IBA use hard water for the HP rinse. Depending on how hard your water is will determine if you use all soft water. For me at 20 grains of hardness in the water it would be cost prohibitive to use soft water for everything. Using soft water and RO for the...

    High Velocity reusing reject water

In most IBA the high pressure rinse is hard water. Soap and wax applications use soft water. Does your system use soft water for its high pressure rinse and wax?

    High Velocity reusing reject water

I keep all my ro reject water in a tank that I place next to the regular HP rinse water holding tank for my IBA. I then connect the 2 tanks together with at least a 3 inch hose. Then lower your float that fills the original holding tank to about the half way mark. You will still have the same...

    Vacuum lights

I have not had a vacuum broken into in over a decade. I went to 15 watt LED pole lights 4 years ago at this location and have not had a vandalism problem. Here is another picture of a install on a JE adams vac at another location.

    Vacuum lights

I came down and checked out the effectivness last night of the vac light. I was very pleased with how much light it puts inside the car. The pattern is perfect for the area of the car. This light along with my recently added light vac claw nozzle made it very nice to vacuum my car. Every...

    Vacuum lights

I do not get a lot of vac use at night so I wondered why keep the lot so bright with big flood lights. I installed smaller LED flood lights but was not real happy with light. A couple of vacs at each location with these lights should handle any night demand and make it nice for the customers. I...

    Vacuum lights

I do have a photo cell wired into the circuit. The led light is rated for 3 hours per day for 32 years of life. I went with a sealed fixture vs. using a fixture with a screw in bulb for vandalism reasons.I debated about even using a photo cell since the LED draws so little power and really a...

    Vacuum lights

I started adding night lights to some of my vacuums that only turn at night when a vacuum is paid for. I wired a LED light into the vac motor power supply so that it turns on when the motor is running. It only draws 23 watts but puts out 1400 lumens of light. The power draw is minimal so no need...

    Blue And White pumps

I used to run a lot of the blue white pumps before going to injectors. First thing to do is check the check valves on the outlet and inlet side of the pump. I used to find the little ceramic ball would stick to the oring seal if the pump sat around for a while. You could insert a small...

    In-Bay and Vac Station Lights

The LEDS I bought are a full fixture. The 100 watt fixture should replace a 400 watt Metal halide and give similar light. According to the company, payback time is only 6 months with energy savings. A 65 watt should equal a 250 watt MH. One picture is a 65 watt LED next to a 65 watt cfl light...

    In-Bay and Vac Station Lights

I just bought a few 100 watt LED flood lights made in the USA with CREE LED lights rated at 100,000 hours for $120 each. I hope to get them installed this week and check them out. I also have some 65 watt LEDs of the same type with photo eyes for $80. Going to try these by my vacuums. Seems like...

    What lights for my awning?

Randy, If you replace all of your lights with T5s in 8 foot 4 bulb configuration you will end up with 25% more lumens of light than what you have now. Another factor is the CRI index of a T5 light compared to a T 12. A T5 CRI is 85 while a T12 is only 62. That means that given the same lumens...

Looking for a thermostat for floor heater

I use several Johnson control thermostats for my boilers. I use model A-419. I take a 1/2 inch hard plastic tube and imbed it into the concrete. The tube should extend out at least 12 inches from the edge of the building in a area that sees the least amount of sunshine. I use 1/2 inch hard...

    What lights for my awning?

You might want to look at the LED strip lights that Kleenrite sells. The cost however will be around $6000. I am still concerned with LED lights however. At the WCA show I talked to a couple of people who had retrofitted some washes when LEDS first came out and they are starting to see failures...
