    Car Wash Advertising

I contacted a local radio station about giving away a free car wash during one of their morning contests. They do a battle of the sexes every morning during drive times when people are listening to their car radios. Part of the prize for the winner is a wash token for my car wash. The only cost...

    Key Features/Carpet Extractor

I retro fitted a couple of mytee extractors with detail plus vac hoses that had internal hoses and the clear window on the extractor. THey can be used on any extractor. If you look at the hose on the top of the line extractor detail plus sells you will see the internal hose and clear window set up.

    Key Features/Carpet Extractor

A couple of things you did not mention that I like in a extractor is a clear window on the nozzle and the supply line ran internal on the vac hose. The clear window allows you to see what you are suckking up and if it is clean and dry. Running the supply line inside the hose means a lot less...

    Need help adjusting Flowmeter

Depending on how concentrated your wax is the 2-10 gph might be a little overkill. I use flow meters on all functions used on my automatics even the ones that go through injectors that can use calculated tips. FOr waxes I generally set them between 1 to 2 gph. That gives me good beading and...

    We need innovation, any ideas?

I would like to try the new tire shine machines that are offered with some vacs and as a stand alone feature. From my detail shop I know a lot of customers look for that the most. I also see several customers bring their own tire shine chemicals. For under a grand Kleenrite offers a retrofit kit...

New Lights for the Self Serve

I changed the lighting over about 2 months ago at 3 of my washes. I went with 42 watt wall pak CFLs. Home depot has lithonia wall paks like mine for under $40 each with the bulb. Using 4 in each SS bay and 6 in my auto bays I have ample light. It compares to the roughly 750 to 900 watts of metal...

    Winter business revenue

My weather is routinly very cold. It is not unusual for us to not get over freezing for a month or more at a time. If the winter daytime highs got even 10 degrees more I know business would be better. ONce we get snow on the ground it is usually here for 3 months. Places that get snow that soon...

    Automechankia in Frankfurt.

Sema has had a car care section for a while now. It often draws over 100,000 people. There are few car wash companies setup at the show. I would like to eventually see the WCA team up and put their show on during SEMA which is usually the first week in November. I think it would draw a lot more...

    Winter business revenue

I am in a Northern state with a similar climate to North Dakota. I think your weather is cold enough that you will see a downturn in business overall. Winter business for me has always been slower than summer business. You will easily see heat bills over $1000 per month to heat the slab in the...

    How inefficient is my boiler?

The rating would be closer to 80% on that boiler. If you are going to replace it you would want to get one with a similar output BTU rating. Most new hitech boilers are 90% +. If you use it for floor heat in the winter I would reccomend a boiler that uses a closed loop air induction so all the...

    induction lighting...converting my Scottsdale lights

I recently replaced some metal halide bay lights with CFL lights. I replaced 900 watts of MH lights with only 210 watts of CFL lights and the bays are just as brite. I used 5- 42 watt CFL wall paks with great results. Cfl will not burn as long as the inductive lights but are a lot cheaper to...

What's the effect to changing Start Up Price?

I got a call last week from a customer complaining about a price raise on the price of my vacuums. It was late at night so it went to my voice mail. It took her 2 seperate calls to explain that she really like my wash and used it because it always worked. She of course explained that she uses it...

Could they be hard water spots? I would try some vinegar first to disolve the calcium. If that does not work dilute some alumabrite acid with 4 parts of water and see if you can remove the spots.

The APC is diluted 20 to 1 for light duty and 10 to 1 for medium strength. It leaves a nice scent and cleans very well. The hyper dressing can be diluted from 1 to 1 to 4 to 1 with water. The more water the less gloss. Goes from shiny finish to a satin or matt finish. I find them to be a good value.
