Is 20K enough to get started in the car wash business?

Did you ever find your VFD?

    Fragramitics Spot Shampoo unit

I keep an Armor All sponge on hand for this very reason. A 1/2" gasket punch makes a perfect replacement pellet out of the sponge that foams even better. Works on Coleman units too.

Water keeps coming out from the wand

It's most likely a problem in the pump. Rinse is fed at city pressure, and holding the gun over your head wouldn't change anything, nor will running another bay. Normally the valves in the pump have enough spring pressure to hold shut against flow from the gravity tank, but if they aren't...

    Tankless, Instantaneous, Water Heaters

Nearly all the car washes around here have hot soap and wax, cold rinse. I can see hot presoak, I've even set up some car washes with hot presoak, but I don't see any point in hot tire cleaner since it's probably not going to be hot once it gets to the tire.

Going from 8 options to 12 in SS bays

I wouldn't try to fill them all with something. Add a second rinse before the spot free.

    Purchasing First Car Wash

I've seen a number of car washes with floor tile on cinderblock walls. It holds up well, but it helps to have a tip protector on the wand to prevent idiots from chipping it up. Mounting stuff on it can be a challenge. Signage is easy, outdoor double-stick tape. Drilling it for holders and...

    Replacing CryptoPay buttons - how?

Could you get in there with a Dremel bit and grind out enough room for the nut? That will let you use the shorter button by extending it with wires.

    Hamilton changer jackpot

I doubt it's the Etowah Valley harness. That would only leave the controller or a shorted wire in the harness, or possibly the hopper run switch. First, take the hopper out and make sure a quarter didn't end up landing on top of the switch and completing the circuit. Next, remove and examine...

    National Quarter Shortage

I've always had trouble with quarters walking off, around $500 a week. It got much worse with bank lobbies being closed during COVID-19, so I ordered 10,000 tokens that I just mix in with the quarters. I lost $4,000 in quarters in the two weeks before the tokens showed up. If I keep about 5%...

    Purchasing First Car Wash

I'd really like to tile the walls of mine, been thinking about a light color 24 x 8" wood grain ceramic tile.

If they're painted now, it's not a big deal to throw on another coat, just do the best prep you can. You'll find out why not to paint bay walls soon enough, it'll need to be done every couple years.

    tired of garbage

I don't have cans anywhere around the bays, only the vac islands. People will park in a bay to just clean out their trash if you make it easy for them.

    Purchasing First Car Wash

IMO this doesn't really help you. You want residential around you. If you're within 1/2 mile of a McDonald's, you're golden (No pun intended). Naming a business based on local school colors/mascot is always a good idea, especially if you run programs that benefit them. You will probably have...

    Tankless, Instantaneous, Water Heaters

I've been seriously considering adding an on-demand heater, but circulating it in a small tank, like maybe 10 gallons. I'll probably use a stainless steel water heater as a tank since it should last forever (and I can't find an insulated storage tank that small in stainless). Part of this...
