    Motion sensor or something else?

You could use either a motion sensor or the power output from the timer to the bay. Motion sensor makes more sense, the lights will come on normal as soon as someone pulls in, and with a delay relay they will stay white for X minutes after it picks up motion. The voltage compatibility issue is...

    Electric Panel Breaker Tripping

I've recently dealt with that at a car wash. One bay kept tripping the breaker in the panel, and the motor was reading really high amps on one leg, so I replaced the motor. After about a month the breaker started tripping again, so I replaced the breaker and it was fine. A couple weeks later...

Vector Issue / need some help

I may have been remembering incorrectly. I know it has two encoder cards, one for carriage, and is there one for the butterfly? That would make sense because the shaft goes right into the gearbox. I just remembered that I had an issue once where the set screw in the encoder ring came loose...

    Swivels on HP hoses

I use brass Adams 7080 at both ends. A 1-foot "swivel saver" hose will make the top swivel last longer. The ones I've tried at the gun that last longer end up getting stiff and not swiveling under high pressure.

    Rotary Switches failing early

No. I replace the set screw with a stainless steel one and I still can't get the knob off without having to destroy it. Just did one last night, the nut came loose and the whole switch was turning. I was able to get the set screw out but still couldn't get the knob off and had to crush it...

Vector Issue / need some help

The Vector butterfly has a prox for sensing the position, not an encoder. If the shuttle encoder card had signs of moisture on it, it'll for sure get wet again. Plan on ordering a replacement encoder ring (They're aluminum and deform when water gets in it).

    Rotary Switches failing early

One guy told me he takes the switch knob off, chucks the end of the shaft into a cordless drill and sprays it while he spins it for a minute.

Vector Issue / need some help

It's on the E300 panel. Someone advised us to run an extra long cable so the E300 could be hung on the wall outside the bay, and it really came in handy several times.

    Rotary Switches failing early

FWIW I've had zero issues with Electroswitch seizing up unless they're more than five years old AND they bay stands unused for a long period. You might want to order some of these to help seal water out of the shaft...

looking into either buying new or building a low pressure system.

The Air Logic system is as simple as it gets. There's a Hydrominder that fills the tank with proportioned chemical, a Flojet pump that supplies pressure using compressed air, and two solenoid blocks to allow flow to the bays when called for. Ideally you want the pump to run only when called...

    Air Machine Usage

How many people a day use yours? Let's say six, and let's say half use CC at $1 startup. That's $1100 a year, IMO worth the $400 for the swiper.

    Air Machine Usage

I know a few people with them. No one around here gives free air anymore. 7-Eleven stores all have them, and they rarely ever work. I'm thinking I should put one in, but I'd put it on the back wall of the building and run it off the main compressor so the investment would be small. Most of...

    Washworld Razor HP hose

That stuff is expensive. I use individual wires from meter door to terminal strip and wrap it in the 3/8" version of that. The wires are cheaper than a multiconductor cable, but the wrap more than makes up the difference.

    CryptoTap common wire?

The red wire to the Dixmor is hot, the green is common. You'll have to follow back to the wire nuts from the timer.

    Touch4wash

I never suggested that your app doesn't work, I just feel like it would be both easier and more idiot proof if they could scan a QR code in the bay. Want more examples of how stupid some people are? Years ago we were renovating a wash with a closed automatic bay (Had doors pulled down, giant...

Anyone try using vandal-resistant locking trash cans?

Those are the exact ones the guy I mentioned above has. What brand is that, where did you get it? I might have to try one and cut it down shorter, screw the doors shut and cut a circular hole for trash to keep big items out. I'm also tired of digging 500 pounds of concrete or tile and mortar...

    Touch4wash

That's the system I would choose. An example of why, my business partner just picked up a wash with an IBA. Every time I've been there, someone has tried to get change from the auto cashier. It says all over it "Not a changer," "Changer in front of building," "Exact money only, no change...
