    Clarification on System Setup

Bubbles, Mercury relays from KR are the best for our car wash vacuums so it stand to reason that they would tend to be the best for the pet blow drys etc. I believe mercury relays have to mounted horizontally --- & that is the reason I did not use them. An electronic engineer told me that use...

    IDX X-20 & MA800 Climate Issues?

coin box heaters? ken-pro, Can you set the coin box heater's thermostats to about 40 degrees so during days where the overhead doors are open & there is a breeze they are not on unnecessarily?

    IDX X-20 & MA800 Climate Issues?

Our bays are up in North Dakota which means overhead doors tend to be more shut & more moisture tends to get in our coin boxes than when the overhead doors are open like further south. People use our Vacs surprisingly in even below zero outside. Since we have to upgrade very soon to the tune...

    Digital t-stat

Welcome to the world of automated temperature controls. It is a balancing act to some extent. Ideally, you would have the "where with all" to observe exactly via logging to see where the temp is not maintained &/or where something is cycling more often than desired. A good chunk of our PLC...

    You want a what?

Lighthouse, On the Nat'l Pride website they have a good power point presentation. We lock up after 10 PM etc. I did buy & read an online book called Self Service Dog Wash by David Grass that has some considerations. His forum shows that it is not all blue sky. For some it will be a good...

watch security cameras from your iphone!!

Buzzie8 & carwash27 We also have the Kalatel Interlogix system. Have you been successful with the alarm contact portion of the system? It seems that if the software that carwash27 is using is a type of remote desktop you would think it would work allowing the software & isolating the cameras...

want to stop paying alarm company

It seems a better solution would be to have an always on internet connection on a person's cell phone & it would chirp on alarm & then a person could see what zone was violated. From there, isolate that particular camera & view. Anybody close to doing what I described ---- please share ---- it...

    Clarification on System Setup

Bubbles, We are using a 3/4" Belimo proportioning valve to maintain the temps. City water pressure is about 60 PSI that needed to be reduced depending on what a trustworthy distributer specifies. It is controlled with a PID loop & the single PLC running both stalls. A fourth hot water...

    Clarification on System Setup

Bubbles, Just a heads up the 1.5 gpm recommended was lower than what we needed because most of our dogs washed are larger dogs. We had to recalibrate all the chemicals when we changed to increase the gpm to 2 gpm. That seemed to be a happy medium now for all size dogs. Because we were pretty...

Dog Wash Blow Dryers, Vac's or Both?

Bubbles, This might be more information that you want but here goes ---- & remember I only have since November been proving our equipment. So far so good. Time will tell. Our blo drys inlets are hooked up into a custom made furnace filter duct along with our charcoal filter & hot water heat...

    Dogwash/Detailing Waiting Room

smell & get bids Bubbles, One thing to consider might be possible "wet dog smell" being fairly strong every once in awhile even with really good ventilation. The dog washers probably will expect it some but detail shop or other restroom users might have a sensitivity. Another thought they...

In bay bill acceptors & friendly auditing

In bay bill acceptors & friendly auditing? Question to those who have your bill acceptor in the same box: Do ever kind of see a potential advantage to not having to open your main box for the greater frequency of emptying the bills vs the much less needed frequency of doing anything else in...

    mercury relays

The only drawback I see for the mercury relays is that they have to be mounted horizontally. That is the reason why I didn't use them in our new dog wash. Hopefully, something I won't regret ---- considering my blow drys require slow blow 20 amp fuses with 30 amp breakers.

    mercury relays

The KleenRite ones have been good for us for many years. I have never heard of anyone having trouble with a mercury relay. I hope someone gives us a heads up if they actually vary in quality. The higher the amp rating probably the better though.

JJJ, It appears to be an incorrect link you posted ---- it should be www.teapartyofwestmichigan.com or www.teapartyofwmi.org Promise us that you will use your influence to steer them away from the even more hazardous to our health gross receipts taxes on services around the country. Hope is Alive! :) I don't know if JJJ is seeing the new posts but I have said more than a few times that the self service car wash part of our business has been way better off because of him & if the self service laundry industry would have had someone or something similar to him it also would...

    Dog wash question

Mustang, I am going to need a little time on that I have some urgent things to focus in on. I tried to post pics a few weeks ago & Bill's jpeg size threw me for a loop. There is a site that I registered for a few years ago but I forgot the details of it. For now hopefully you & others can get...

    Popular Vending Snack Items

Both human & canine favorites Waxman, Hershey's Chocolate & Snickers sell the most out of all our snacks from our almost 3 year old AMS Mega Vendor in our launderette that is part of our car wash. For what it is worth, a master bought his large Great Dane 3 of our zip lock bags of Beggin...

Request to provide video of a crash

Whale a Wash makes a good point about a potential fee. Most of us do not have a lot of back up people to spare. We have had a VCR camera system since 1982 & updated that about 2002 with DVR. It has been exasperating the amount of time involved going back & examining the recordings with the...
