High Presure Soap & Foam Brush Issue

Also I wire tie a heavy brass piece around the end of the hose leading to the hydrominder to keep the end of the hose at the bottom of the drum. Being brass might also help in keeping the soap from snotting up.

    Fried a pump motor?

(It's been my experience that electricians can't figure out the low-voltage side of a car wash). Mep001 that is so true.

High Presure Soap & Foam Brush Issue

Agree with everything above. I would check the valve kit and diaphragm inside the hydrominder and foot valve.

    no suction

MJ I do this for my central vacs too. But at the self servs I've been doing it this way for 35 yrs. For me it's easy, not only do I clean the bags but wash down the entire inside of the cabinet, seals and around the vac pads. I have never had any trouble.

    no suction

I've never had a problem. If it is an issue you could keep it shut down longer.

    no suction

Close off you vacuum. Put an extended hose on the high pressure hose next to your vac and blow out all your vac bags. Shoot the water downward into the vac receptacle. Close off the vac for a 24 hrs. to let the bag dry. I do this about once a year on rainy days on all my vacs. Also replacing...

    KR - Drying agent

Earl I've trying PAS5014 Simoniz Poly Sealant (Lemon) and PAS5030 Simoniz FC-3 Drying Agent. The Poly is about $4 more per 5 gallons. We used the FC-s in Feb. and am trying the Poly now. It's hard to tell right now on the Poly because of the heat wave we're having, the cars are coming out...

    accepting tokens only?

Wasn't there a car wash in Vegas that was built that only accepted credit cards? Is it still around? If so is the credit card model still working or do they accept cash now too?

Has anyone seen/used these guys? Their across the street today spinning the adv. signs for an AT&T store. They definitely are eye catching. Across the street is a different town and I guess the city allows this type of advertising but in my town the city does not allow moving signage. What do...

    Vac Upgrades...What Would You Do?

"Jim Gosnell from Etowah Valley has talked with me about a 3 motor vac that has a typical start up with 2 motors and then there is a turbo button that can be used to start the 3rd motor and the time/price adjust accordingly. I have always thought this was a good option and may look into doing...

Help: Key things to know when purchasing an existing Self Serve?

If there is not one around and the property is large enough it might be worth looking into knocking the wash down and building an express wash. Cost and your time spent there will change drastically though.

Help: Key things to know when purchasing an existing Self Serve?

What's the competition? #1: Express Washes #2 Self Servs. #3 Full service or Flex wash tunnels #4 IBA's Distance? Price points? Coin box time? Do you have 3 years of financials? Has the gross been going up or down? DON'T pay asking price.

    Our new Kondor Install!!!

Looks like it did a great job washing the Jeep. Love the lit gantry. My concerns are the amount of water on the ingress and egress exteriors of the bay and the freezing that will occur outside the bays in the winter. Would you lose some cleaning power if you angled the nozzles more toward the...

    Potential New Owner

Suds the reason is change of format. This wash had been full serv. for more than 30 years. As far as working 14-16 hour days I doubt that there is not one person on here that hasn't done the same thing. This is the nature of this business at times and my experience is no exception. It is a...

Golden Rings and Car Wash Pits

I tell them they would have to pay to have the pit cleaned out from the pit cleaning company that I use. That there is a flat fee to clean the pits for $600. So if they want to pay them $600 before they start they will pump out the pit and hand sift thru the sludge. So far 3 people paid and all...

    Potential New Owner

I talked to a lot of 2nd. generation full serv. owners that had changed over to e.e. before I decided to change my format from full service to express. Almost everyone of them told me I would lose 1/3 to 1/2 the customers from the full service volume and it would take 24-36 months to start to...
