    New Car Wash Competition

I don't know if you are referring only to IBA or tunnels. FWIW few new tunnels in Chicago use Top Brushes. I have one left and was happy to get rid of last 2. (I am aware that some tunnel operators luv them)

    New Car Wash Competition

Several local dealers offer free washes for life to those who purchase a new car from them. Between those washes and washing cars they service they really cannot accommodate any more retail so while it's a ding in demand, it's not a huge ding. One also offers free breakfast on Saturday mornings.

    Tire/Rim Brush Replacement Recomendations

I would guesstimate from the video that it took 20 seconds from front bumper tip to rear bumper tip to to reach the wheel blaster and that the car was about 15 feet long. =.75 feet / sec. Use 20 feet as optimal standard car and space, so that would be 26.666 feet. Divide 3600 seconds by that...

    Dryer troubles

I got rid of rain bar because I was not happy with side rinsing which of course affects drying. You can experiment with some outrigger nozzles to target the sides and see if it helps or even replace rain bar with a rinse with jets. Assuming you have an arch it costs little to fashion pipe...

    Dryer troubles

Efficiency can take many forms. FWIW I tried and did away with the rin bar because I felt some of the sides of vehicles were not covered well. Some rain bars can be fitted with outboard nozzles to address this issue.

Things I did to save money last year

A rep had me try Mr. Foamer foamers in my tunnel. Tried it and got a better show at much lower dilution and less volume. Would not have believed it if I did not see it myself. Bought 11 more at the show for the show discount and then found KR sells a unit that performs as well for a lot...

    Mitter Curtain after Hot Wax

I have to ask. Why is there a mitter after the HW? Mitters like all cloth should be continualy flushed with a cleaning solution which would not. Applying HW before such a solution is counterproductive for both products.

How many hours do you put in at work?

The "At the Wash" qualifier is an issue. I do lots of stuff off site since I have 4 locations. Plenty of info comes in from the net and by phone and I do lots of stuff that way. With QB on line I can draft checks from any computer and then print and mail when I get on site. I also monitor...

    Tire/Rim Brush Replacement Recomendations

I have used the Erie WW. I felt it as one of the best out there. It was a PITA to modify an existing unit to accept a larger diameter Brush. I was able to get some machined pieces of steel 2" x 2" and about 6 inches tall. They bolted to existing bearing holes and bearings mounted to it to...

Flo-jet G57 series pump issue. Rapid pumping.

More future reference. I use old Foot valves for strainers. (Ones that don't work as foot valves anymore.) In order to have less resistance i cut the barb end so only the part that needs to stick in the 1/2 inch suction hose is there. The other day I had an issue and thought the foot valve...

    Foam Brush stain??

Typically Household Bleach will remove stain with little effort from colored products. (I use it on my hands when they are Pink or blue from the stuff.)On a white truck it shouldn't be an issue. Just put a little on a rag, apply and let sit for a few seconds before rinsing.
