Credit and debit card start up charge

Chaz, I can see you have not spoken to many gasoline retailers about this. Been involved in retail gas for 40+ years. When gas was 25.9 and we were .02 higher than the guy down the street we would hear about it and volume would suffer. "Bank Cards" really did not exist. Only oil company charge...

Credit and debit card start up charge

Being a frequent cash consumer I hate being dissed to subsidize the the extra cost of CC transactions partly passed thru to me. Fair is fair. If you cost the business more, they should charge you more. In addition to the wash I sell gasoline. So, the high CC costs vs margin on a gallon of...

Credit and debit card start up charge

Not sure hown the law works but I do know many entities charge a "Convenience Fee" for CC or post cash and credit prices. If you want an example in how to charge look at the Illinois Secretary of State. If you choose to file your annual corporate report on line (as opposed to doing the paper...

Credit and debit card start up charge

I agree that people can be surprisingly dense. BUT in this case I think your conclusion is incorrect. I don't know if I get 2 of these a year, and my CC revenue runs about $2000 / month. Also, you can try count up and change back if it really is an issue. I am count down for...

Express Conveyor 55 ft lots of choice- whats the best Value and longevity

FWIW I would go with stainless. Clean it and it looks new for decades. (Unless you plan on selling in a few years and leaving cosmetic appearance headache to someone else.) Look at how equipment is constructed. If a part breaks because cloth gets snagged or someone hits it can you unbolt and...

    problems with Simoniz TireShine Pads

At the last show it seemed the trend was to move toward tire / wheel brush type applications. Now, some 2 years since my post #3, I am still happy with the no contact / no moving parts Viper. Application cost seems higher than others. Aggravation cost perhaps still lower.

CarWash Canopies LLC -- Jim Lewis owner

Well, here is a thing called jail, but I know a fella that told someone who crossed him: " You should wish me a long and healthy life, because if it ever comes to pass that I am told I have a terminal disease you are at the top of the list.." I have such a list.

FWIW. I have AVW, Sherman, and Belanger mitters. No issues with wipers. That is typically a wrap around issue for rear wipers. All in all still a rare occurrence.

Cloth for Side Washers and Wrap Around Brushes

FWIW I spoke to Dan at Erie about relative lubrication of liquid vs Foaming on a product. His feeling was liquid lubricates better. Makes sense, the air in the foam would not seem to be a lubricant.

Pressure on one side and suction on the other? Slight suction. Vacuum? Don't want to collapse tubing.

    1. If you are in the mrket my question would be "What do you need to accomplish that isn't being done / can't be done with mitters?" Such as space limitations. 2. You would have to confirm this with a car wash equipment engineer but as far as starting lower goes, I have had them with the brush...

Cloth for Side Washers and Wrap Around Brushes

I think Filament cleans best all around. Sadly it's gotten a bad wrap. Proper lubrication with soapy water just like you need to do on cloth makes it just as easy on the finish as everything else. Filament conforms to contours better. I don't know how alternating cloth and filament would...

Cloth for Side Washers and Wrap Around Brushes

In addittion went to Erie Foam as replacement for an AVW Top Brush. Get 3x the life out of whatever AVW was using. After about 75K cars it would fall apart. Erie's lasts .... well, I don't know how long it lasts. After about 300K cars I replaced it because the color seemed to go out of it and...

Cloth for Side Washers and Wrap Around Brushes

I use Erie Cloth for my sides. Have been experimenting with neo glide for tops of wraps - looks great for a lot longer. Doesn't seem to fade or show any dirt. Cleaning may not be quite as good as cloth. Lately i have been using filament on some 21" lower details and on the bottom 18" or so...

The best answer to your question will be obtained if you try it. Turn off the DA for a car (or 10) that gets CC and see what happens. All sorts of factor can impact how it works at any given location.
