    Softener Brine Tank Issue?

It's probably not a brine tank issue. That will in almost all cases cause it to use too little salt. There could be a problem with the softener itself overfilling the brine tank. Depending on the type, when the unit is in standby/service there should be no flow to the tank if you disconnect...

Which is why I made it work that way on the first CC system I had my hands on.

Turbulence in Main Tank causing Hydrominder problems

You might also want to get rid of that flimsy metal clip on the float weight. I always replace it with a heavy cable tie. It's plated steel and will eventually disintegrate.

I would use "Idle" instead, but IMO "Off" makes more sense. If I were to see "Pause" on the switch, I would think it would pause the timer. What about nothing, either a blank spot, or no "Stop" at all? When I was a distributor we built a car wash around 1996-1998 and the customer wanted both...

    Softener Brine Tank Issue?

Also measure the brine refill. Once the tank is clean and empty, put enough water in it to cover the pickup, then let it run the brine draw until it's empty, then let it do a full brine refill. Mark the level, let it draw the tank empty again, then with the tube disconnected measure the brine...

New to forum & looking to start a self service wash

If you can even find a good one that can do it. Most of them around here have one guy that knows the stuff, but they send out some kid with a degree in liberal arts who spends most of the billable time on the phone asking someone else what to do. If you have even a little mechanical aptitude...

What are some of these "breakdowns" you're having? Edit: Six posts, all were questions in new threads, no replies from you in any of them so far. Not expecting much in the form of more info...

    Foam brush repair

I'm pretty sure the setup in your first two pictures is a freeze protection system. I'm not sure why there's a tank, but that's not for air. The air goes in at the bottom of the left hand bank of solenoids which is currently plugged. If you switch to a methanol mix in the winter to prevent...

Turbulence in Main Tank causing Hydrominder problems

Hydrominder makes several large valves just for filling tanks.

Turbulence in Main Tank causing Hydrominder problems

I was thinking the same thing, maybe even 6" which you can get in short pieces from Home Depot. That should be heavy enough to stay in place on its own.

Turbulence in Main Tank causing Hydrominder problems

Is there a hose that comes off the Hydrominder and down into the tank? Can you extend it or replace it with a solid pipe with a tee? Post a picture of the setup.

    Cavitation Problem

Odds are most of the crankcases aren't even bad. Some people buy new pumps when the manifold goes bad and keep the old crankcase. If the shaft turns smooth and quiet and the plungers are tight with no play, it should be good. It's probably not worth fixing the one with the broken rod if you...

    Low Pressure irregularities between bays

I've had the red ones swell too. Made the mistake of shaving them off, it's just about impossible to get them perfectly flat, and if you remove too much the solenoid won't open anymore.

That seems unlikely unless that 1/4" nipple is galvanized iron or steel pipe.

New to forum & looking to start a self service wash

If you're lucky you can get a functioning but underperforming wash for not much more than the value of the land. It takes some work, but if it's neglected but in a good location you can make it nicely profitable without a lot of money put into it.
