Blue Magic metal polish on the plastic. I clean the lens of the big Dixmor timers a couple times a year. I also used it on the window of the big timer on the shampoo vac - it was so bad you could barely read it, now it's almost perfectly clear. That took about five minutes.

No one sells an express wash unless it's failing, in fact they usually don't sell them at all but instead let the bank foreclose.

I've been seeing a lot of that too. Mine do it in a bay, usually late at night. One couple pulled in at 10:30 PM and were still there at 10:00 the next morning.

If I had an underperforming wash, I'd not have a problem with adding vacuums to the bays. I get a lot of vacuum business when it rains and wouldn't be bothered if someone wants to spend twice as much to vacuum in the shelter, rather than mess with adjusting the vac time to be longer than the...

It should, the mounting between them should be the same. I've never tried putting a Microcoin into an IDX frame myself. The wiring is different, now you're using the yellow and black for power with one red/green wire combined with either the yellow or the black and the other to the coin input...

I don't know of any system of self-serve in-bay vacuums. If I were to do something like that, I would probably have the vacuum at the end of the bay wall and might possibly use a boom for easier access, and connect the two with PVC pipe.

Mars AE series validators hold up very well in bays. I had some that hadn't been touched in 12 years other than occasional cleaning. The cover seems like a good idea, especially if the meter box is in the middle of the wall. They don't get much overspray if they're in the column at the end.

Can you temporarily turn off the heat for the water to see if it's not just relieving the pressure on the pump from the temperature of the water?
