Depends on the age of the unit, some will go to default wash if it's powered off and on, newer ones retain the custom wash setting. Fortunately they all retain the individual wash settings.

Make sure you enable the custom wash profiles.

Look at your electric bill, there should be a cost per kilawatt-hour. Mine is 12.5¢. That means a 3-motor vacuum would cost me $0.375 per hour, or $0.00625 per minute. So a 3-motor vacuum would cost me about half a cent per cycle more in electricity.
